Inthelastthreeweeks,wehaveseenoutrageousandindiscriminatepoliceviolence againstpeacefulprotestersinGeziParkinTaksim,Istanbulandacrossthecountry.Asof 18June,theTurkishMedicalAssociationrecordedthatduringthelastthreeweeksof protests,nearly8,000peoplewereinjuredandthereareatleast4confirmeddeaths acrossTurkeyafterpoliceusedwatercannon,teargas,andexcessiveforceagainst demonstrators.Amongthosewhowereinjured,59peopleareseriouslyinjured,6people areundercriticalcondition,11peoplelostaneye,andcountlesspeoplehavebroken limbs.IstanbulBarAssociationestimatesthatmorethan800people,someofwhomare reportedlyprosecutedunderantiterrorismlaws,havebeendetainedinIstanbulalone sincetheprotestsbeganonMay29th,2013.
