I assume non Muslims don't accept The Quran as a divine revelation from
God because if they accept The Quran, then they won't be non Muslims as
the verse below says
What is Islam?
Islam is submitting your will to the one true God! Islam is monotheism, that
is believing in One God and not associating anything or anyone with God
(called in Arabic as Allah)! Islam is believing that There is no god but Allah
and Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah!
When, The Prophet was alive, The Quran was memorised by many others
and it was written down! From the time of The Prophet till today, not even a
letter of The Quran which was revealed in Arabic. 1400 years ago has been
changed!
The Quran was given to the Prophet Muhammad as a sign and guide from
God! The Quran is meant for the whole of mankind and till eternity!
IMPORTANT TO NOTE!
QUESTION 1
The Big Bang which we know through science now is clearly stated in The
Quran, 1400 years ago!
Do not the Unbelievers see
That the heavens and the earth
Were joined together (as one
Unite of Creation), before
We clove them asunder?....
Quran 21:30
QUESTION 2
We know now that before the Galaxies were formed, the celestial matter was
initially in the form of gaseous matter! But this is clearly mentioned in The
Quran!
Moreover, He Comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as)
smoke....
Quran (41:11)
QUESTION 3
Before, humans thought the world was flat! It was in 1597, when we found
out the world is spherical! Now, we know that it is not just spherical but geo
spherical! But The Holy Quran has said this 1400 years ago! The Holy
Quran says the shape of the Earth is like the shape of an ostrich egg! Ostrich
egg is geo spherical!
QUESTION 4
Recently, we came to know that the moon does not have its own light but it
has reflected light! But the Holy Quran says that the light of the moon is
reflected light!
But whenever the Quran talks of the Moon it uses the words
"muneer" and "noor" which mean reflected or borrowed light!
QUESTION 5
Only a two decades early, we came to know the sun rotates about its own
axis! But The Quran says that the sun rotates about its own axis, 1400 years
ago.
“It is He Who created the Night and the Day, and the sun and the moon:
All (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course.”
Quran (21:33)
The Arabic word used in the above verse is yasbahoon . This word is derived
from the word sabaha. It carries with it the idea of motion that comes from
any moving body. If you use this word for a person on the ground, it would
not mean that he is rolling but would imply that he is walking or running. If
you use this word for a person in water, it would not mean that he is floating
but would imply that he is swimming. Similarly, if you use the word yasbah
for a celestial body such as the sun, it would not only mean that it is flying
through space but would also mean that it is rotating as it goes through
space.
QUESTION 6
Earlier it was thought the sun was stationary but now we know it moves in
an orbit! The Quran says that!
“It is He Who created the Night and the Day, and the sun and the moon:
All (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course.”
Quran (21:33)
We also know now that the Sun will extinguish itself in the future! These are
mentioned in The Quran!
“And the Sun runs its course for a period determined for it; that is the
decree of (Him) the exalted in Might, the All-Knowing.”
Quran (36:38)
QUESTION 7
Now, we know through science that it is the sperm which is responsible for
the gender of the child! But this is mentioned in The Quran that the sperm
determines the sex of the child!
QUESTION 8
Recently, we know that all living thing are made of water! But this is
mentioned in The Quran clearly!
....We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
Quran (21:30)
He Who has created the heavens and the earth and all that is between....
Quran (25:59)
QUESTION 10
In 1925, we came to know the fact that the Universe is expanding! But this
is clearly mentioned in The Quran, 1400 years ago!
QUESTION 11
Before, everyone thought the atom was the smallest unit! But recently, we
know the atom can be split further! This is clearly mentioned in The Holy
Quran that there are smaller things than the atom!
“The Unbelievers say, ‘Never to us will come The Hour’: say, ‘Nay! but
most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you –by Him Who knows the
unseen – from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the Heavens
or on earth: nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the
Record Perspicuous.’”
Quran (34:3)
QUESTION 12
We know how the water cycle works now but The Holy Quran describes the
water cycle clearly and in great detail in several places in The Quran!
QUESTION 13
Now, we know that the mountains bring stability to the Earth and that
mountains have deep roots below the land! For example, the tip of the
iceberg, the tip stands out of the water but the rest is under water! The
mountains are like that! The Quran mentions this clearly and says mountains
are like pegs!
“Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, and the mountains as
pegs?”
Quran (78:6-7)
“And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should
shake with them.”
Quran (21:31)
How did Prophet Muhammad know this?
QUESTION 14
Modern Science has discovered that in the places where two different seas
meet, there is a barrier between them. This barrier divides the two seas so
that each sea has its own temperature, salinity and density. Oceanologists are
now in a better position to explain this verse. There is a slanted unseen water
barrier between the two seas through which water from one sea passes to the
other. But when the water from one sea enters the other sea, it loses its
distinctive characteristic and becomes homogenized with the other water. In
a way this barrier serves as a transitional homogenizing area for the two
waters. There is an unseen barrier which we know recently but this is clearly
mentioned in The Quran, 1400 years ago!
“He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together:
Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress.”
Quran (55:19-20)
QUESTION 15
We know now that below 200 meters under the see there is hardly any light
and below 1000 metres there is complete darkness! We also know there are
internal waves in the oceans! But this is clearly mentioned in The Holy
Quran! The Quran even talks about internal waves and it says clearly there is
no light in the depths of the oceans!
“Or (the Unbelievers’ state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep
ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark)
clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his
hand, he can hardly see it! For any to whom Allah giveth not light, there
is no light!”
Quran (24:40)
How did Prophet Muhammad know this?
QUESTION 16
“‘And has sent down water from the sky.’ With it have We produced
diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others.”
Quran (20:53)
Previously, we did not know that plants too have male and female gender
distinctions. Botany states that every plant has a male and female gender.
Even the plants that are unisexual have distinct elements of both male and
female! This is mentioned in The Quran!
QUESTION 17
“And fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two.”
Quran (13:3)
Fruit is the end product of reproduction of the superior plants. The stage
preceding fruit is the flower, which has male and female organs (stamens
and ovules). Once pollen has been carried to the flower, they bear fruit,
which in turn matures and frees its seed. All fruit therefore imply the
existence of male and female organs. A fact that is mentioned in The Quran.
In certain species, fruit can come from non-fertilized flowers
(parthenocarpic fruits) e.g. bananas, certain types of pineapple, fig, orange,
wine, etc. They also have definite sexual characteristics. So even fruits have
gender which is mentioned in The Quran!
Research has shown that animals and birds live in communities like us
which The Quran mentions!
QUESTION 19
Now, we know that it’s the female bee which brings food and that the bee
does a bee dance to tell the other bees the exact location of the source of
food. But these facts are mentioned in The Quran, 1400 years ago!
QUESTION 20
Recently, we knew that honey comes from the belly of the bee and that
honey is a very good medicine for various things! But The Quran mentions
this 1400 years ago!
QUESTION 22
We know that the embryo look like a leech like clot and it clings! This is
mentioned in The Quran!
QUESTION 23
“Now let man but think from what he is created! He is created from a
drop emitted – Proceeding from between the back bone and the ribs.”
Quran (86:5-70)
In embryonic stages, the reproductive organs of the male and female, i.e. the
testicles and the ovaries, begin their development near the kidney between
the spinal column and the eleventh and twelfth ribs. Later they descend; the
female gonads (ovaries) stop in the pelvis while the male gonads (testicles)
continue their descent before birth to reach the scrotum through the inguinal
canal. Even in adulthood after the descent of the reproductive organs, these
organs receive their nerve supply and blood supply from the Abdominal
Aorta, which is in the area between the backbone (spinal column) and the
ribs. The lymphatic drainage and the venous return also go to the same area.
The Quran mentions that man is created from a drop emitted from between
the backbone and ribs!
QUESTION 25
“And made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid
despised.” Quran (32:8)
The Arabic word "sulaalah" means quintessence or the best part of a whole.
We have come to know now that only one single spermatozoon that
penetrates the ovum is required for fertilization, out of the several million
produced by man. That one spermatozoon out of several million, is referred
to in the Qur’an as sulaalah. We have also come to know now that only one
ovum is fertilized out of the tens of thousand produced by the female. That
one ovum out of tens of thousand is also refered to in the Qur'an as Sulaalah.
This word also means gentle extraction from a fluid. The fluid refers to both
male and female germinal fluids containing gametes. Both ovum and sperm
are gently extracted from their environments in the process of fertilization.
QUESTION 26
“Verily We created man from a drop of mingled sperm.” (Al-Qur’an
76:2) The Arabic word "nutfatin amshaajin" means mingled liquids.
According to some commentators of the Qur’an, mingled liquids refers to
the male or female agents or liquids. After mixture of male and female
gamete, the zygote still remains nutfah. Mingled liquids can also refer to
spermatic fluid that is formed of various secretions that come from various
glands. Therefore, nutfatin amshaaj, i.e. a minute quantity of mingled fluids
refers to the male and female gametes (germinal fluids or cells) and part of
the surrounding fluids!
QUESTION 27
“He makes you, in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one after another,
in three veils of darkness.” Quran (39:6) According to Prof. Keith Moore,
these three veils of darkness in the Qur’an refer to:
(i) anterior abdominal wall of the mother
(ii) the uterine wall
(iii) the amnio-chorionic membrane.
QUESTION 28
The Embryological stages are described stage by stage which have all been
proved 100% correct by embryologists! Its too much to type here!
QUESTION 29
We know now that the human embryo in the womb gets the sense of hearing
during 24th week and the sense of sight on the 28th week! The fact that
hearing is developed before sight is developed is mentioned in The Quran!
The Quran also mentions that the bones are formed before the muscles,
which is scientifically proven now!
QUESTION 30
The Quran even says during which part of the embryological stages the
embryo starts having human characteristics!
How did The Quran have all this facts? We, Muslims says that it is because
The Quran is from God! As it says in The Quran itself
In a Book well-guarded,
Quran (56:75-81)
If Muhammad was not a messenger of God then he had no use in putting all
these facts in The Quran cause people then did not know these anyway!
If there are any mistakes, then it could only be because of the way I have
presented the Questions! So I take full responsibility for any mistakes!
