INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NANOSCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY (ICNN-2013) DURING 16-18, DECEMBER 2013.

Department of Applied Physics (DAP), School of Physical Sciences, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Vidya Vihar, Raebareli Road,Lucknow-226025 We are pleased to announce that Department of Applied Physics (DAP), School of Physical Sciences, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Lucknow, India is planning to organize a three days international conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology during 16-18, December 2013. Nano Science and nanotechnology has made great strides in the development of core technology in the 21st century. It is the branch of science and technology that deals with the things on nanometric scale. It is well established that the properties of materials at this scale are entirely different from those at the bulk level; fullerenes are known to be superconducting, carbon nano tubes have optical, electrical and mechanical behaviour entirely different from those in bulk materials. The physics of Quantum Dots open some new aspects of physics. The subject is so exciting and versatile that it has made inroads in all branches of science. One talks of nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, nanobiotechnology, nano medicine, nanorobotics etc. Nanomaterials play important role in the modern development of science due to its small size and large surface area. Nanotechnology is expected to revolutionize certain areas, such as semiconductors, pharmaceuticals and materials. The total societal impact of nanotechnology is expected to be much greater than that of the silicon integrated circuits because it has applications in many more fields than electronics. The objective of this conference is to hold an open deliberation on the state of art development in this important area of R&D, a first hand assessment of the existing challenges with an ambition to arrive at prospective solution and define future strategy. It will provide a proper forum where senior academicians/experts and young researchers/scholars would get ample opportunity to interact and discuss the recent trends in the materials and technological developments in the subject area of their interest so as to have a fusion of viable ideas to be realized in future as a gift to the youngsters by their expert predecessors. This is the need of 21 st century India for launching step towards self-reliance for technological empowerment in the area of global competition. In order to have an intense interaction among the researchers in this field, following topics will be covered during the conference: Synthesis of Nanomaterials Characterization of Nanomaterials Applications of Nanomaterials Fullerenes and Carbon Nanotubes Nanobiotechnology Nanophotonics Nano devices and sensors

Nano-Bio NanoToxicology and Green Technology Theoretical/Computational Aspects It is proposed to have twenty to twenty four specialized lectures on various topics related to contemporary developments this area. Evening lectures will also be organized and delivered by noted materials scientists and nanotechnologists on the future direction of nanomaterials research and their applications. The objective of the conference is broad discussion on the overall trends in chemistry of material synthesis and its characterization, and the need to strengthen scientific & technological research, development and commercialization of value added products. The conference aims to bring together academicians, scientists, engineers, industry researchers and scholar students and above all the policy makers to exchange and share their experiences in this field and bring out a consensus to formulate the guidelines in this area. The main objective of the conference is to formulate follow - up actions and identifying pilot activities to test innovative approaches. Hence, it is a unique opportunity for exchange of scientific knowledge and planning of joint research and other co-operative actions. The conference will feature keynote addresses; a number of plenary sessions invited talks and contributed lectures focusing on specific tenets of processing, morphology, structure, properties and application of materials. Additionally there will be several posters and the five best poster presentations will be selected to receive an award. We are pleased to announce that the selected papers presented in the conference will be published in peer-reviewed international journals.
