AUTHORITY: State Government Article: Section 10-508(a) Annotated Code of Maryland PURPOSES: 1. To discuss: (i) the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation or performance evaluation of appointees, employees or officials over whom it has jurisdiction; or (ii) any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals; 2. To protect the privacy or reputation of individuals with respect to a matter that is not related to public business 3. WORK SESSION -MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL TUESDAY, JULY 9, 2013 4. NEW BUSINESS A. Retirement Recognition of Electrician George Littleton

IN APPRECIATION OF GEORGE LITTLETON 15 YEARS OF SERVICE George Littleton has contributed Fifteen (15) years of dedicated service to the Town of Ocean City, where he began his career in 1998; and WHEREAS, George Littleton has played an integral role in the Public Works Department of the Town of Ocean City for 15 years; and WHEREAS, George Littletons skill and experience have been instrumental in the overall success of the Public Works Department for the Town of Ocean City, Maryland. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Richard W. Meehan, Mayor of the Town of Ocean City, Maryland, along with the Ocean City Council, do hereby commend George for his Fifteen (15) years of devoted service and wish him a happy and healthy retirement. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the Town of Ocean City, Maryland to be affixed this 9th day of July in the year of Our Lord two thousand and thirteen.

IN APPRECIATION OF ERIC HUTCHINSON 26 YEARS OF SERVICE Eric Hutchinson has contributed Twenty-six (26) years of dedicated service to the Town of Ocean City, where he began his career in 1987; and WHEREAS, Eric Hutchinson has played an integral role in the Police Department of the Town of Ocean City for 26 years; and WHEREAS, Eric Hutchinsons skill and experience have been instrumental in the overall success of the Police Department for the Town of Ocean City, Maryland. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Richard W. Meehan, Mayor of the Town of Ocean City, Maryland, along with the Ocean City Council, do hereby commend Eric for his Twenty-six (26) years of devoted service and wish him a happy and healthy retirement. Recor, ICMA-CM, City Manager Boardwalk Business Directory July 2, 2013 Request to install boardwalk business directory panels at select areas along the Boardwalk. The OCDC and its Boardwalk Committee request to install six business directory panels on the Boardwalk. The panels will include the name of each business on the boardwalk, general location, and business by category (retail, food/beverage, lodging, and attractions). The OCDC believes this will assist boardwalk visitors to locate area businesses as well as see all business types found along the boardwalk. Approximately $4,000 for design, materials and installation. Costs to be paid by OCDC. Installation: InstallationwillbecompletedbySignsIllustratedwhichworkswiththeTownofOceanCityandOCDCon manyprojects.Initialinstallationwillincludeproperhardwaretofastentheindividualpanels.Panels willbesecuredwithstainlesssteelorgalvanizedhardware. Storage: TheOCDCisrequestingtheTownofOceanCitytoremovethepanelsafterthesummerseasonandto storethem.TheTownwouldberequestedtoinstallthempriortothefollowingsummerseason.Once installedthenewbusinesslistingdirectorywouldbeappliedtothepanels. Maintenance: Thedirectorypanelsareintendedtobelowmaintenanceanddurable.Intheeventofgraffiti,theUV coatedfilterwillprovidesomeprotectionbutincasesofextremegraffitianewoverlaysheetwillbe installed. TheOCDCBoardwalkCommitteewilldevelopanewbusinessdirectorylistingforeachsummerseason.

Costs: Thedesign,panelboardscreation,businessdirectoryoverlaycover,andinitialinstallationwillbepaid forbytheOCDC.TheOCDCwillalsopayfortheannualoverlayofbusinessdirectorylistforeachpanel. Timingofproject: UponapprovalofthisprojectbyCityCouncilatitsJuly9thmeeting,itisplannedforthesepanelstobe fullyinstalledbytheendofJuly.
