Run WinAudit (capture all network, system, application and service specific information in a format that can be utilized at a later stage to validate that the machine is in the same state as prior to migration.) Check the following: Number of vCPU Memory Number of disks / size Network port group Network connected (add and configure vNIC to VMXNET3) upon power up OS type Remove USB Controller / COM Port VM hardening parameters (In line with Architecture Design) If the Physcial Server is configured to be backed up via SAN, add a vNIC to the backup vlan

Power on the VM, logon as local administrator. Allow plug and play devices to be auto detected and installed. Remove NIC teaming driver and remove unnecessary software such as the VM converter software and System Director agent. Reboot.

Logon as local administrator, install Vmware Tools. Reboot. Logon as local administrator, remove all hardware management agents and disable hardware management services. Reboot. Logon as local administrator, remove hidden devices. (launch devmgmt.msc with the switch set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1) Change HAL driver from multi to uni processor if 1 vCPU VM. Configure network settings. Shutdown the guest OS, power off the VM completely. Power On the VM.
