Phonics This is short again, but we are going to work hard this week. We are going to listen for the initial sounds of words and match letters with the sounds. We are going to use these sounds and by talking with emphasize on the start, we are going to distinguish between different sounds. By the end of this week we are going to work on our new phonic sound family 'at' and work with these new words (cat, rat, bat, mat, fat).

Review Students review the vocab from the previous week and also practise asking the question "what is this?" and replying "this is a/an...." Practise writing their names down and also focus on making corrections to writing errors. The "an" sound family words and the sightwords we have done so far "go, no, on, in"

Notes / parent follow up: Encourage your child to speak English as much as possible. Make sure they do so clearly and loudly. Help your child to practise introductions and greetings in English. Please practise phonics with your child. This is very important and one can never have too much practise with this. Also it can be good to make your child aware of the different sounds in words by saying a simple word in English, example cat. Your child should say what sound he or she hears in the beginning.
