Cancer Treatment for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma is one type of cancer. Its located behind the nose and just above the mouth and throat. Nasopharyngeal cancer is a cancer that starts in the nasopharynx, and its also a disease in which cancer cells develop form the tissues of the nasopharynx. Nasopharyngeal cancer is uncommon in the United States, with about 2,750 people diagnose each year(Nasopharyngeal Cancer). This kind of cancer can be heal completely. Nasopharyngeal cancer is type of a tumor, and it can invade surrounding tissues and spread to other parts of the body. The cancer can occur at any age, but it can be found mostly in people aged 50-60. Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma can cure by four different solutions below I write down the treatments. (American Cancer Society). Intravenous (IV), chemotherapy infusion is a method to put drugs directly into the bloodstream. But IV chemotherapy may be used in different situations to treat nasopharyngeal cancer. This is receiving often into IV or by mouth. Intravenous chemotherapy is a strong treatment, so sometimes patients can be appetite, diarrhea, hair loss, anemia, reduced white blood cells, so lowered immunity; thus patients may be infected more easily because of the chemotherapy treatment. Chemotherapy can cure cancer because it destroys cancer cells, and sometimes it doesnt grow back. Chemotherapy helps for tumor smaller and stop growing cancer cells which can grow fast and divide quickly. (We make thing clearer).

Oral chemotherapy is a treatment used to shrink tumor or kill cancer cells. Oral chemo is usually taken by pill or capsule. Oral chemotherapy for daily, weekly, or once to twice a month by mouth. While patients are taking Oral chemotherapy pill, they are going to check their blood tests and CT scan too. The CT scan is an x-ray test that produces detailed cross-sectional images of his or her body. Taking a CT scan information about the size, shape, and position of a tumor (Computed tomography (CT) scan. As the same as a blood test can help how he or she can handle it the oral chemotherapy or not and also their white blood cells count is low or high. (We make thing clearer). Radiation is the main treatment for nasopharyngeal cancer, and its also keep from growing tumor. Its treating the tumor and the lymph nodes in the neck. Radiotherapy is using high-energy rays to destroy cancer cells while doing the treatment must to harm as little as possible to normal tissue. The treatment will be carried out on a daily basis from six to eight weeks to complete. The nasopharyngeal cancer used the most common treatment for radiotherapy. External radiation therapy may change the way the thyroid gland works. The doctor may test the cancer patients thyroid gland before and after therapy to make sure it is working properly. It is also important to check his or her mouth while treating radiotherapy because the mouth can be dry and hard to eat, hard to talk, and hard to swallow ( Bethesda). (We make thing clearer). Nasopharyngeal cancer patients eat food as mush as they can and drink plenty of liquids (Stephen J. Schueler, MD; John H. Beckett, MC; D. Scott Gettings, MD). While patient are treating, these food are requires such as fish, chicken, beans and lean meat which have enough high protein (Casey Holley). These should not too spicy, not too hot, not fried food such as dry hard food. High protein are request for the cancer patients because the treatment are really

for cancer patient. The nutrition food build up their body strong and avoid from weakness. If the patients eat enough nutrition, it also protect the infection from where they can get. Patient should drink at least 3000ml the same as 6-bottom of water and also drink nutritious fluid (such as milk and other complementary food). Lack of drinking does stop working kidney function, so the cancer patient must always put priority to drink many liquid. (Health InfoWorld). Oral chemotherapy is the best solution for nasopharyngeal carcinoma cancer because its killing the cancer cells. Without treating the oral chemotherapy, the cancer cells will be recover it again. If the patient take other drugs while the oral chemo treatment, the patients will interact with lower effectiveness or cause health problem. And every week, patients have a blood test and CT scan while they are treating Oral chemo. Its extra take care for the patients as we compare with the other treatment. But cancer patient, he or she cant be life without treating with all of the above treatments.
