Thanks are in order to the Sheets family & Dairy Queen for their donation of ice cream on the last day of VBS. I think all the VBS volunteers would agree that the children thoroughly enjoyed this special treat!

The church office needs your new college addresses! Remember all those words of wisdom everyone wrote down on Senior Sunday? Tell us where we can send them & expect some goodies, too! In the care packages, well also be sending out information on what spiritual resources (college ministries, UMCs, etc.) are available in your new home away from home. Best wishes from your church family as you prepare for this new chapter of your life! Virginia

Several small groups will bEGIN this fall. They will be based on studies and shared interest. Please JOIN!

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God and I will praise Him, my Fathers God, and I will exalt him. Exodus 15:2

At Large Members are responsible for cleaning both kitchens and sharpening the Sanctuary pencils in August. Also, remember to visit our resident members in the Care Centers. Be sure to help any way you can in the Food Stand! Pray for those going to Rosebud on the Mission Trip August 4-10.

I want to invite any of you who like to read to help yourself to the many books I have ordered for our UMW reading program this year. They are on the top shelf of the book shelves in the Parlor. Just sign your name and the book you take on the writing pad I have in there. Take the book and enjoy it. You don't have to be in UMW and men are welcome to read them too. I think I've order about 18 now and they are all good. Those of you who have some of the first set of books, you may return them to this shelf also so others can read them. We have slips of paper in the front of each book so please write your name on it also. We can get credit for people in our church reading whether in UMW or not. There are many books on the other shelves from past years too. Help yourself to those also. I think we'll put them out for people in the church to buy them cheap and have them better used from now on. I have a whole clothes basket of older books under the coat rack in that room also. Please help yourself and enjoy. Janis Houdek, UMW District Reading Program Coordinator

~BIG THANKS to Joan Grover for the awesome bulletin board designs she has been doing in the Foyer. We enjoy each and every one and the messages they convey to us. Way to go! ~I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the congregation for your condolences in the death of my uncle. I was especially blessed by the ministry of the We Care Card Team. It was very comforting to return to Concordia and find all the sympathy cards waiting for me. This was a good reminder to me of how important this quiet, but faithful, ministry is to those they serve, particularly in times of sadness. Virginia Smith

~Thank you to the Mission and VIM Teams, and all who brought snacks or helped make the Christ the King Lutheran Church VIM Team from Hutchinson, MN, feel welcome during their overnight stay at our church last Friday evening. With your help we were able to extend our Christian hospitality to this group of travelers. Janet Heyka, Mission Team Leader ~Thank you so much. We greatly appreciate everything you did for us. Your hospitality is EPIC and the snacks were GREAT. We received the BEST hospitality from your church than anywhere weve stayed. God bless! Pastor Steve and the King Lutheran Church VIM Team (They spent an overnight in our church while on their way to their destination doing mission work. Their thank you notes are on the announcement board in the office - check them out!) ~Dear Church Family, Thank you for your prayers, cards, e-mails, and caring thoughts and deeds at the time of my neurosurgery June 28 and during my recovery time. I have been blessed that the meningioma was benign and my recovery very smooth. We definitely felt the many prayers that were coming our way. Praise be to God! Jewelda Scofield

~Ladies of the Ruth Circle, Thank you so much for Sundays spaghetti dinner. Its so nice of you to support VBS Sunday with a meal. I know many of you supported in other ways, also. Blessings to each of you! Pastor Emily

The KIOSK is presenting new tasks as we continue to work with the different contractors to nish it up. The electrician is working with me to get to a point that the software will function with the display. There will be landscaping to do and other electrical issues to accomplish. Finally, how to use the software will have to be learned and then we will be ready to LIGHT IT UP! Sorry for the delays, but in talking with everyone that plays a part in the Kiosk, I would rather do it right once and have it all work correctly. The Display should be working by August 9th. Jay Kallman, Trustee Chair

Items needed now are: canned milk, rice, jelly and tomato soup. Also, don't forget that the food bank will be closed Aug. 5 thru Aug. 8 as I will be on a mission trip. God Bless everyone for all they do for the people of Republic County, Carolyn Rauch, director
