At this design stage, the following drawings would be expected which have not been provided: - Structural GA drawings at every floor level, including typical structural member sizes and slab thicknesses, - Long and short cross section through the each building - Typical structural details Formwork drawings are not appropriate at this design stage.
15-May
TIMKA *Structural GA drawings at every floor level, including typical structural ENGINEERING member sizes and slab thicknesses provided. *Long and short cross section drawings through each building attached. *This is a preliminary technical drawings. At application project all details will be send to your side. Application process will be done with communication and with our last application project
SB
Provide a clear Design Philosophy Statement, including: - Design Standards adopted - Specific Design Loads (not extract of table from BS 6399) - Clear description of the structural system and lateral stability - Description of the Design/Analysis Approach
15-May
TIMKA *Design standards references reduced and clearly defined which load ENGINEERING is taken * Clear description of the structural system is mentioned in the general report at the beginning of the report. *Design/Analysis approach detailed in the report
SB
Level of analysis output is not appropriate for this design stage. Typical member sizes are sufficient, with appropriate analysis to justify these sizes.
15-May
TIMKA *Level of analysis output is detailed preliminary static report. ENGINEERING All seismic, static and reinforced concrete detailed calculation results shown in static report. From all this information all member sizes are sufficient as shown in the report. TIMKA Full soil investigation report included. ENGINEERING
Okay to close: Low risk - Contractor to Quality of some drawings not good - in particular the overall building which is not action comment. legible (ref AH-DWG-CIV-DES-BH-1101-0 Model). Review line scales when printing to pdf. Provide each drawing on a separate page. (Some pages contain three drawings) Note, typical beams are 300mm wide x 500mm deep and 600mm wide x 500mm deep. Design Loads: Requires further discussion - Imposed loads in corridors and other trafficked areas and plant rooms will be significantly more than 2kPa. - Dead loads from specialist hospital equipment (e.g. xrays, MRI etc) need to be allowed for in the design. - Wind loads?? (These do not appear to have been considered) - Temperature loads - what has been allowed for? - Line loads, e.g. from cladding? Okay to close: Low risk - Contractor to Level of output is unnecessary for this design stage. It is sufficient to provide load action comment. diagrams, stress, shear and bending plots and hand calculations to justify member sizes / typical reinforcement rates required. Requires further discussion Soil Report: Has soil report been queried? Conclusions suggest allowable ground bearing pressure of 60kPa (Pg 26), however in design parameters 120kPa (Table 6.2) is suggested.

Long span beams between GL L-N+ depth is the same as all other beams, despite span being significantly longer. Provide design justification. This portion of the building is missing in the ETABS model.
29-May
TIMKA This part of the building designed steel at first but later concrete ENGINEERING designed accepted. So, we will send you calculations at the last report.
22
SB
How has the raft been modelled in ETABS? Have springs been assigned? Provide calculations to justify. How will relative movement between raft foundation and shallow pads be accomodated within the ground floor design? Foundation plan has not been provided. No comments on plans and section provided.
29-May
TIMKA Raft foundation modeled as a shell member in the ETABS. Also, ENGINEERING springs have been assigned on raft foundation. (10000kN/m). We provide more detailed calculations at last report.

Design Loads: - Confirm imposed loads for residences building - Wind loads?? These do not appear to have been considered. - Are there any rooms with specialist equipment or plant which would need to be considered in the slab design? - Temperature - what has been allowed for in the design? - Line loads, e,g from cladding? Deflections: - Has deflection been checked? Please confirm slabs & beams perform within allowable limits. Refer to comments above regarding design laods and deflections.
29-May
TIMKA Design loads are demonstrated in the last static reports briefly. ENGINEERING
