CCSS Release Notes

IMPORTANT: If you are not already using QSM V11 Release 133 or above, QMM Release 055 or above, you will require a new permanent code for each system in the configuration after upgrading. o Please contact CCSS first, as you will need to use a Temporary code and remove the old permanent codes after the software install, to ensure that the products will run after the software has been updated. o Once the latest software release has been loaded you will need to enter the MONDSPINF or MMDSPINF command on each system (but only on each Primary Partition for LPAR boxes) in your network and send this information back to CCSS. Once this has been received a new permanent code will be issued.

1. QMessage Monitor Version 6

If you decide to monitor the Security Audit Journal, please ensure that all the relevant filters have been configured, BEFORE switching this feature on. You will need to manage the QAUDJRN receivers, to control the amount of disk space utilised. We also advise deleting old receivers before switching this feature on, to minimise the amount of data to be processed. Be aware that the MMALOGP file may also grow quicker than usual, if you decide to capture every possible entry and its growth should be monitored. If you are upgrading to i5/OS V5R3 or V5R4, you have to upgrade QMM to Version 6. V6 does not support versions of the operating system lower than V4R4. If you have V4R3 or lower in your network please contact CCSS first. If you are a QRemote Control customer, please remember to stop QRC before commencing the install process.

2. QSystem Monitor Version 12

Version 12 utilises the extended functionality of the more recent versions of the operating system and has been written for OS/400 V5R1 and above. If you have V4Rn systems in your network please contact CCSS first. We advise running V12 on a PC with a minimum of 512MB memory. The format of message MON0079 that is sent to queue MONTHR has been changed due to threshold processing changes in V12. You will need to review any escalations created in QMessage Monitor based on MON0079.
