GPRS Packet Core JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate has to be experienced on GPRS Packet Core Network Support for Nortel Networks customers, support first and second level in Nortel SGSN product release 4.0 and 5.0 based on passport 7k and 15k, SIG-IP/SS7 Gateway based on HP platform and GGSN based on Contivity and Shasta from release 3.1.1 to release 3.2+, Interception Gateway Node, DNS/DHCP/Radius based on the PPS (Preside Policy Server) and Metasolv products and CGF(Charging Gateway Function). The candidate has to be experienced on: monitoring tools (NSP/MDM and logs), debugging and troubleshooting issues, integration and acceptance (SGSN/GGSN/SIG/CGF/PWI), of Nortel on Networks the nodes nodes

training of the customer SGSN/GGSN/SIG/CGF/PWI,

training of the Monitoring alarms of people of the customer for the alarms monitoring and establishment of process for contacting the support second level in case of major and critical issues, writing of process documents and templates (backup process, patching process, support process, trouble-ticketing process and logon process on the different nodes), performance measurement tools using some tools like metrica and some Nortel internal tools, weekly performances and alarms statistics using the Historical Fault Browser of the NSP and treatment using some Unix/linux tools before sending the report to the customer, collecting traces and logs for all the GPRS/UMTS core networks interfaces (Gb, Gn, Gr, Gr, Gs, GS) by using K1297/K1205, Sniffer and Ethereal, and Agilent analyzer,

troubleshooting by using the OS level of passport and following the debugging processes defined by Nortel Networks R&D, acceptance and integration activities for new SGSN End-to-End (GMM, SM, Web Browsing, Wap Session and MMS tests, CDR collection), ability to decode internal SGSN traces and their collection from the OS level with knowledge of vxWorks which is the language of the Nortel Passport CAS, collection and capture of internal traces on Passport for the FP cards and particularly with the SGSN cards: GSC, GSD, GTL, for the collection of GMM/SM internal traces by following the collection traces processes written by the Nortel GNTS teams, PDP context and statistics of the GPRS traffic by using the Shasta and collection of the Shasta cards status and the event logs and configuration of the Shasta by adding new data (ISP, APN) using the SCS client, Troubleshooting of the SIG and checking of each component of the SIG (Packages SIG, Cluster, nodes and interfaces linked to the Gr, the OAM and the floating node), collection of the SS7 logs events and messages, and configuration of SS7 entities on the SIG using SS7 Manager and SAM (point-code, global-title, ), Troubleshooting of the Shasta SSG 500 by checking the status of each card, and all routes status for each interface linked to the GGSN (Gn, Ga, OAM), and application of patch on Shasta, Ability to work on the SCS Server/Client environment and checking of the Database on the Solid and the LDAP, Troubleshooting of the OAM (PWI) by using some GNTS processes and patch application of the PWI.
