Outbreak of loose motion reported from SC Colony & BC Colony, Village Kotharamapuram, Block Athmakur, District Kurnool. District RRT investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. Poor sanitary conditions were observed in the affected area. Temporary medical camp organized. Cases treated symptomatically. 1 death occurred in a patient aged 45 years. 2 water samples collected & sent to PHL, Kurnool were unsatisfactory for drinking purpose (H2S strip test). Chlorine tablets were distributed. Chlorination of water sources done. Health education given regarding safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation. Cases of vomiting & pain abdomen reported from AP Model School, Village & SC Shantinagar, PHC Ananthagiri, Block Kodad, District Nalgonda due to consumption of contaminated food (boiled egg and rice ) in mid day meal. District RRT investigated the outbreak. No separate room was present in the school for kitchen. Food was cooked under neem tree. Cases were treated at CHC Kodad. All cases recovered. Health education given regarding food hygiene. Cases of loose motion reported from Village Bompally Thanda, PHC Doma, District Rangareddy. Cases complained of loose motion after consuming rice and mutton. Temporary medical camp organized. Cases treated. No food sample was collected. Chlorination of water sources done. Health education given regarding safe food habit. Cases of loose motions, nausea, vomiting and pain abdomen reported from Villages Goroimari, Alikas and Goroimari, District Kamrup R. District RRT investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. Cases had consumed Prasad (Bengal Gram) in a religious function. Cases treated at local health centre. 1 stool sample collected tested negative for cholera. IEC done. Cases of abdominal pain and giddiness reported from Utkramit Midddle School Village Noorchak, SC Noorchak Navtoli, PHC Bisfi, District Madhubani after consuming mid day meal. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Cases were treated at PHC Bisfi. Food sample collected by food inspector, Madhubani; result awaited.

Cases of loose motion reported from Village Basantpur, (Mahadalit tola), SC Karvandia, Block Sasaram, District Madhubani. Block health team investigated the outbreak. Cases consumed food in marriage ceremony of Gond Mahadalit community. Medicine and ORS packets given to cases. 8 cases treated at Sadar Hospital. Health education given. Outbreak of loose motion reported from Village Balirampur, (Ward No. 7), PHC Ujiyarpur, District Samastipur. District RRT/ Block health team investigated the outbreak. Poor hygienic conditions were observed in the village. Cases consumed food (fish) in community festival. Temporary medical camp organized. Cases treated. Cases of vomiting, headache and unconsciousness among children after consuming mid day meal were reported from Navshrigit Prathmik Vidyalaya, Village Gandaman, near Dharmshati Bazar, Block/District Saran. District RRT investigated the outbreak. As per information, contaminated oil was used for cooking vegetable for mid day meal. Organic phosphorous was found to be mixed in food. Further lab tests are going on for final confirmation. All 38 cases were admitted in Sadar Hospital, Chapra/Saran in critical condition. Afterwards cases were referred to PMCH Patna. The detail of this outbreak was received from SSO Bihar. Investigation is still open. The matter is being investigated by State Authorities and Police. Outbreak of loose motion and vomiting reported from Village/SC Nari, Block Kurud, District Dhamtari. Block health team investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. People consumed water from hand pump. Poor sanitary conditions were observed in the locality. Temporary medical camp organized. Cases treated. ORS packets and chlorine tablets distributed in the community. Health education given regarding safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation. Cases of loose motions reported from Village/SC Boria, PHC Sinhol, Block Petlad, District Anand. District RRT investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. Pipeline leakages were observed in the community. Cases treated at local health centre. 2 stool samples collected which tested positive for cholera (O1 Ogawa). ORS packets and Chlorine tablets distributed in the community. Health education given regarding safe drinking water.

Cases of pain abdomen, vomiting, loose motion reported from LG Hospital (Nursing students), AMC MOH, South Zone, Khokhra Ward, District Ahmedabad. District RRT investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. Water supply in the affected area was through AMC pipeline which was stopped temporarily. Alternate supply of drinking water provided. Cases were treated at LG Hospital. 3 stool samples collected; result awaited. Out of 5 water samples collected, 4 samples tested positive for faecal coliform. Chlorination of water sources done. Chlorine tablets & ORS packets distributed. A team from Municipal Corporation was sent to provide supply of safe drinking water in the affected area. Cases of loose motions & vomiting reported from Village Moramball, SC Ravaliya, PHC Chetersumba, Block Thasra, District Kheda due to consumption of contaminated water (pipeline leakage). District RRT and Block health team investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. Clustering of cases of was found near the water pipe line leakage. Cases were treated symptomatically. Pipeline leakages repaired. ORS packets & chlorine tablets distributed in the locality. 2 stool samples collected which showed growth of no pathogen. 2 water samples collected were non potable (H2S strip test). Health education given regarding safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation. Cases of loose motion & vomiting reported from madarsa students of DUFM educational & charitable trust, Village Naliya, PHC Tera, Block Abdasa-lakhpat, District Kutch. Block health team investigated the outbreak. Cases were treated at CHC Naliya. Sample not collected. IEC done. Cases of loose motion, vomiting, nausea and pain abdomen reported from Village Achisara, PHC Simali, Block Shinor, District Vadodara. District RRT visited the affected area. House to house survey done. Cases presented with the above symptoms after 6 hours of consuming milk item in lunch. Cases treated symptomatically. 7 cases treated at CHC Motafofaliya. 1 water sample collected was unfit for drinking purpose (H2S strip test). Chlorination of water sources done. IEC activities undertaken regarding food hygiene.

House to house survey done. Patients treated at Epidemic Disease Hospital. Out of 6 water samples collected, 2 samples tested positive for E. coli. District RRT investigated the outbreak. All cases treated symptomatically. Out of 2 serum samples collected and sent to MMC Mysore, 1 sample was positive for Dengue (IgM ELISA). Source reduction activities done. IEC activities regarding vector control measures done at schools and Baragi colony area. Cases of jaundice were reported from Bibikeri, Shivaji Road, Pullikesh Road, Mandi Mohalla of urban area of Mysore city, District Mysore. Medical team investigated the outbreak. Out of 8 blood samples collected, 6 samples were positive for Hepatitis E (IgM ELISA). Cases treated at Government Ayurvedic college, Mysore. Chlorination of water sources done. Health education given regarding control of water borne disease. Cases of gastroenteritis reported from Village Mungal, SC Badihal, PHC Malhar, District Yadgir, due to consumption of contaminated water (pipeline leakage). District RRT investigated the outbreak. Cases treated locally. 8 water samples collected; result awaited. Chlorination of water sources done. Health education given. Cases of loose motion and vomiting reported from Saket Nagar (jhuggi basti), Bhopal city, District Bhopal. Cases were from two families who consumed mushrooms collected from nearby forest. Cases were of low socioeconomic status living in poor sanitary conditions. Cases treated at J.P. Hospital. Health education given regarding non consumption of wild mushrooms in the affected area. Cases of vomiting, loose motions with fever reported from Village Tiwari Kheda, SC Panagar, Block Majhgawa, District Jabalpur. District RRT investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. People consumed water from hand pump. Cases treated symptomatically. Chlorine tablets distributed. Health education given regarding safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Affected cases were students who consumed water from bore well. Cases treated at local health centre. All 6 stool samples collected, tested positive for V. cholerae. 3 water samples collected were non potable. Inspection for pipeline leakages done. Chlorination of water sources done. Health education given regarding safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation. Cases of fever with rash reported from Village Ghosali, SC Mokhada 2, PHC/Block Mokhada, District Thane. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Active search for fever cases done. Cases treated symptomatically. Vitamin A solution given to cases. Cases were in age group 8-10 years. Blood samples collected and sent to NIV Pune; result awaited. Health education given regarding isolation of cases. Cases of fever with body ache reported from Village Roadpali Budhawada, PHC Wawanje, Block Panvel, District Raigad. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Entomological survey revealed HI 2.2, BI 2.2, CI 0.5. House to house fever survey done. Cases treated. Out of 10 serum samples collected sent to JJ hospital, 1 sample was positive for Dengue and 1 for Chikungunya. Application of abate and fogging done in the affected area.

Out of 6 water samples collected, 5 samples were non potable. 1 death occurred in a 10 year old female patient. Chlorination of water sources done. Instruction given to gram panchayat about regular chlorination of wells. Health education regarding safe drinking water. An outbreak of food poisoning reported from Village Ralayta, PHC Phulikala, Block Shahpura, District Bhilwara. Block RRT investigated the outbreak. Cases presented symptoms of swelling of lips, lesions in the mouth and unconsciousness after eating prasad (Mishri) in a Katha programme. Prasad (Mishri) was mixed with Fitkari (Alum) and was distributed in the community. Cases were treated at SAT hospital, Shahpura. All cases recovered. Cases of loose motion and vomiting reported from Village Dundlod, Block Navalgarh, District Jhunjhunu. District RRT investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. Temporary medical camp organized in the affected area. 25 cases were treated in the camp. 5 water samples collected; result awaited. Chlorination of water sources done. Outbreak of food poisoning reported from NLC Girls Higher Secondary School in Neyveli Lignite Corporation area, Block Kurinjipadi, District Cuddalore. District RRT investigated the outbreak. 300 students consumed Mid day meal of which 172 children presented symptoms of vomiting, stomach pain and headache. 12 cases were admitted in NLC General Hospital. Food samples were collected and sent to Kings Institute Guindy, Chennai and DPHL Cuddalore. IEC done.

Outbreak reported from Village Thiranipalayam, SC Ootathur, PHC Alunthalaippur, Block Trichy Corporation, District Tiruchirappalli. District RRT investigated the outbreak. All 3 stool samples collected and sent to KAPV medical college were positive for cholera by culture. Chlorination of water sources done. Health education given regarding safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation. Cases of loose motions, nausea, vomiting and pain abdomen reported from Village Annukudi, SC Uthamathanapuram, PHC Enamkiliyur, Block Valangaiman, District Tiruvarur. District RRT investigated the outbreak. All cases consumed mango pieces in the dinner. Cases reported from Village and SC Keelaputhaneri, PHC Vallanad, District Thoothukudi. District RRT investigated the outbreak. 15 blood smears collected which tested negative for malaria. Out of the 6 serum samples collected, 5 samples were positive for Leptospirosis and one for Dengue. Chlorination of water sources done. Health education given regarding not to use contaminated water for drinking and bathing purposes. Capsule Doxycycline given both prophylactic and therapeutic dose to all affected persons. Cases of loose motions reported from Village Bhusehara, SC Malautha, CHC Harpalpur, District Hardoi. District RRT & Block health team investigated the outbreak. House to house survey done. Cases consumed food in marriage function organized in village Bhusehara on 16-07-2013. Cases were treated at CHC Harpalpur. All cases recovered. Health education given. Cases of jaundice reported from Village Rudwa, Block Pokhari, District Chamoli. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Active house to house search for cases done. All cases were below 12 years of age. All cases treated symptomatically. Out of 9 serum samples collected and sent to Srinagar Medical College, 8 samples were positive for Hepatitis A. 5 water samples collected which tested negative for residual chlorine. Chlorination of water sources done. Chlorine tablets distributed. Health education regarding drinking of boiled water, personal hygiene with emphasis on hand washing and avoidance of indiscriminate defecation particularly near water source given.

All cases treated symptomatically. Out of 5 serum samples were collected, 4 samples were positive for Hepatitis A (IgM ELISA). All 5 water samples collected were non potable. Chlorination of water sources done. Chlorine tablets distributed. Health education about drinking boiled water, personal hygiene with emphasis on hand washing and avoidance of indiscriminate defecation particularly near water source given. Outbreak of loose motion and vomiting reported from Villages Tabageria, Domgeria, Majuria, Dhandangra, Beldoba, Dogachia, Parulia, Jagannathpur, Block Keshpur, District Paschim Medinipur. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Leakage of pipelines was observed in the affected area which led to water contamination. All 7 water samples collected were non potable. Pipelines were repaired and chlorination of water sources done in the affected area. Health education given. Cases of loose motion with mucus and vomiting with some dehydration reported from Village & SC Labanga, Block Baduria, District North 24 Parganas. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Cases treated symptomatically. Out of 7 rectal swabs cultured, 1 was found positive for Shigella, 1 for Salmonella typhi and rest for commensals. Halogen tablets and ORS packets distributed in the affected area. Cases of loose motion with vomiting and fever reported from Village Uttar Thakurchak, SC North Thakurchak, PHC Gordawani Block Joynagar District South 24 Parganas due to consumption of chola and fruits in Iftar Party. District RRT investigated the outbreak. All 2 stool samples collected were negative for cholera. Medicine given to cases. IEC done and health education imparted. Outbreak reported from Village Sirsita, SC Bansanka, Block Bansanka, District Birbhum. Block RRT investigated the outbreak. Community used contaminated pond water and poor sanitation condition observed in the community. 2 rectal swab samples collected which showed growth of no pathogen.

Outbreak of loose watery stool with vomiting reported from Villages Adibasipara, Hattala, Itagarh, SC Mohipalpur, PHC/Block Balagarh, District Hooghly. District RRT investigated the outbreak. 4 rectal swabs collected, result awaited. ORS packets and chlorine tablets distributed in the affected area. IEC done regarding safe food and drinking water, hygiene practices and sanitation.

On 13th July, District RRT investigated the outbreak. Manigong town & 16 villages were affected out of which majorly affected villages were Karle, Hemi, Pullom, Sajegong, Gapur, Papikrung, Yorkodom, Ganglong, Pasang, Ruku and Remang of PHC Manigong, District West Siang. Population of the affected area was 4125. House to house survey was done. The affected area xlviii. Acute Under was of tribal population. People consumed water from stream and ground Diarrhoeal Disease and 200 2 27/06/13 surveilla water. Open latrines were present. There was lack of sanitary and sewage Respiratory Tract nce disposal facilities. A medical camp was held at PHC Manigong from 14th to Infection 16th July. A total of 110 cases of acute gastroenteritis and 90 cases of respiratory tract infection were treated at PHC Manigong. Children in the age group 1 month to 10 years were mostly affected. 2 deaths occurred in children ?? Viral Infection of age 2 months and 8 years who were suffering from fever and respiratory tract infection related complications. IEC done regarding personal hygiene, sanitation, handling of food and feeding of infant and children were conveyed to the parents.

Cases of fever with vesicular rash reported from Sree Ramakrishna Ashram Thulasitheertham Hostel, Village/SC/PHC Kayamkulam, Block Muthukulam, District Alappuzha. Medical team investigated the outbreak. Active search for fever cases done. The index case was reported on 06/07/13 who shared the same dormitory with other cases who developed similar symptoms later. Cases treated symptomatically. Health education given regarding isolation of cases. Cases reported from Eeswaravattaram area, Village/SC/ PHC Pudunagaram, Block Koduvayur, District Palakkad. District RRT investigated the outbreak. Active search for fever cases done. Temporary medical camp organized. Cases treated. Out of 18 serum samples collected, 4 samples were positive for Dengue (IgM ELISA). Source reduction activities done. Cases of loose motion and vomiting reported from Village & SC Thenkadapanthangal, PHC Musiri, Block Walaja, District Vellore. Medical team investigated the outbreak. Active search for cases done. 9 cases treated at Walaja General hospital and 5 were treated at SMH hospital. Out of 3 stool samples collected, 1 sample was positive for cholera by hanging drop method. Chlorination of water sources done.
