Installing the SASU

This describes how to install an SASU. An SASU should be installed on the wall or against the pole.

Huawei recommends that two persons install the SASU together. Prevent the SASU from falling off a high position.

Procedure
l To install an SASU on the wall, do as follows: 1. Determine the position for installing the SASU.
NOTE

When installing the SASU, ensure that the connector to connect the antenna faces upwards and the connector to connect the base station faces downwards.

Place the SASU at the installation position, closely against the wall, and mark four points with a mark pen. Use a percussion drill to drill holes at the four points. Use a vacuum cleaner to clear the dust inside and outside of all holes, and then measure the distances between the holes. If a hole has a big error, determine the position again and drill another hole. Tighten the expansion bolts slightly, vertically place the expansion bolts into the holes, and hammer the bolts with a rubber hammer. Ensure that all the expansion tubes completely enter the holes. Remove the bolt, spring washer, and flat washer one by one. Fasten the holes of the mounting ears of the SASU with the four expansion bolts, set the spring washers and flat washers on the bolts again, and put the assembled bolts into the expansion tubes. Fasten all the bolts till they are fully expanded, as shown in Figure 16-1.

Connect the external cables of the SASU according to the port relations and wrap the waterproof tape around the cables.

10. Securely ground the SASU wiring posts through grounding cables. l To install an SASU against a pole, do as follows: 1. 2. Hoist the SASU and its accessories onto the tower platform or the rooftop. Determine the position for installing the SASU.
NOTE

When installing the SASU, ensure that the connector to connect the antenna faces upwards and the connector to connect the base station faces downwards.

Put one end (without a bolt) of a clamp through the hole on the installing support of the SASU, lead the clamp around the pole, and then put the end without a bolt through the slit beneath the bolt. Use a screw driver to screw down the bolt on the clamp, as shown in Figure 16-2. Installing the SASU against the pole is shown in Figure 16-3.
