New Standards Definitions ~ Standards A standard is a document which commonly provides its repeated use, its rules, guidelines or characteristics for activities or their results, aimed at the achievement of the optimum degree of order in a given context. On its own a standard is a form of specification. Three main types of standards exist, namely: Metrological, Quality System or Product / Service ~ Tangible Standard: This can be measurable, like, weight, height, thickness, temperature and pressure. ~ In-Tangible Standard: This cannot be measured. It can be assessed only after the performance/functionality is carried out or visually assessed
