1 New Priest and 3 New Deacons!

FROM THE DESK OF THE SUPERIOR Once again we observe the great feast of Pentecost and the close of the Paschal Season. At this time of the year many parishes including our own celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation whereby those receiving this sacrament are filled with the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit. At the end of May we were blest by having Cardinal George ordain Robin Kwan to the Priesthood and Joshua Caswell, Nathan Caswell and Kevin Mann to the Diaconate. Many of the photographs in this issue are of the ordinations and I hope they bring you as much joy. The attendance at the Ordination was slightly over five hundred, consisting of parishioners, friends of those ordained and their family members. It was a delightful surprise that Mr. and Mrs. Caswell were able to be with their sons on the day of their ordination for they come from Northern Canada. Father Robins parents and other family members joined him in this great day and Deacon Kevin Manns mother and aunt were able to be present at the ordination as well. Cardinal George joined family and friends after the Ordination Mass and greeted everyone. Father Robin offered his First Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form the following day. As some parishioners observed it looked like he knew what he was doing. During this past year in the seminary, Father Dennis Kolinski instructed our men in the sacred ceremonies and when our men returned to St. Johns, Father Bart Juncer and myself took time to further train our men. Again I hope you enjoy this issue of the Via Sacra. Continue to pray for us and for vocations. At the end of June, three men will enter the Formation Program as Postulants. Father Dennis, Deacon Joshua, Deacon Kevin and myself are attending a conference in Rome on the Sacred Liturgy, Sacra Liturgia, to learn, discuss, and study the ways the Sacred Liturgy is bound up with the New Evangelization. We will carry all your intentions to the Tomb of St. Peter. VOL.
