Welcome to the 2013-2014 School Year!

MCEE Student Services had an eventful summer. We said farewell to Linda Goeringer when she retired in June after over 30 years of service at OU. Elizabeth Ehrhardt was named as the new Director of Student Services. We welcomed Laura Cullen to our office as our new Senior Academic Counselor. Laura has thirteen years of experience at OU in the academic counseling profession. She has been recognized by the Oklahoma Academic Advising Association as a recipient of the Outstanding Academic Advisor Award as well as Best in State as a conference presenter. The National Academic Advising Association, Region IX, has presented Laura with the Outstanding Advising Award in a Primary Role. NACADA has also awarded her with Best in Region for a conference presentation. Laura finds great professional satisfaction in helping students meet their goal of becoming an OU graduate. On a personal note, she enjoys practicing yoga, traveling with family and friends, and spending time with her twin sons. If you have not met Laura already, please greet her at the MCEE Welcome Back BBQ on August 28th. Later this month, Francesca Hunt will celebrate her first anniversary as the Administrative Assistant in Student Services. MCEE faculty and staff are striving to continue providing the quality of educational resources and services the College is known for. With enrollment in the MCEE continuing to grow, you will see many new faces in classrooms and around Sarkeys. We encourage you to become actively involved in the various student societies and to take advantage of the many opportunities (scholarships, tutoring, networking, etc.) afforded to you as a student in the College. We all wish you the best as we begin the 2013-2014 school year!
