Smart Surveillance security system by using CCTV

IEEE Reference: 2010 Author: Ying-Wen Bai, Li-Sih Shen and Zong-Han Li

The aim of this project is to enhance the CCTV camera based security systems, which presently exist in different places. The Project Smart Surveillance security system by using CCTV is designed using wireless technology.

The project basically consists of surveillance unit & control unit. Our project will works in two modes: Manual mode &

automatic mode. In automatic mode PIR sensor will detect person movement and will give signal to the microcontroller to start the CCTV camera by using Relay. IR sensor will track the person movement and give the signal to micro controller. Accordingly stepper motor will be actuated to rotate the CCTV assembly. & in manual mode we will use keypad for the movement of CCTV camera.

Surveillance unit:

LCD

PIR sensor

Zigbee Micro Controll er MAX Module

Stepp er Motor Driver

CCTV Mechani cal Assembl y

Surveillance unit consist of micro controller, LCD to see the messages, PIR sensor for the detection of living things,

stepper motor driver to drive stepper motor, relay will be used for turning on & off CCTV camera.MAX 232 IC will be used for voltage conversion between Zigbee module & microcontroller. Control Unit:

LCD

Buzzer Micro Controll er

Zigbee Module MAX 232 From CCTV Camera

LED

TV

Keypad

Control unit consist of micro controller, LCD to see the messages, buzzer & LED for indication, Keypad will be used in manual mode for the controlling movement of the CCTV camera.MAX 232 IC will be used for voltage conversion between Zigbee module & microcontroller.

Hardware Requirement:

1) Micro Controller used We can use any of the following micro controllers Atmel 89C51, PIC micro controller series, AVR Micro controller, ARM7 LPC 2138/2148 2) Display used: 16X2 alphanumeric LCD of Lampex Company with 16 pins We can use other options like 20X4 or 40X4 .Also we can use graphical or TFT displays instead of alphanumeric LCD 3) Keypad We will use 4X4 matrix keypad with push to on type keys. 4) Zigbee module:

The Zigbee Modules were engineered to meet IEEE 802.15.4 standards and support the unique needs of low-cost, low-power

wireless sensor networks. The modules require minimal power and provide reliable delivery of data between devices. The modules operate within the ISM 2.4 GHz frequency band and are pin-for-pin compatible with each other. 5) Buzzer & LED. 6) Relay: 12v spdt, to switch device on/off. 7) CCTV camera. 8) Power Supply: 230V A.C. supply will be used for control cabin. Batteries will be used for handheld unit. Software Requirements: For Assembly language programming ASM 51 For C programming with AT89C51 and ARM 7 Keil cross C compiler For PIC 16F877A MPLAB or HTPIC For AVR WinAVR / AVR studio / Core vision AVR.
