It is high time that the Indian public being made aware of the needs of the
handicapped children.
It is actually not the children who are handicapped but the parents, community and
the society as a whole that has attached such a negative stigma to them.
There was a time in the old days when such children were either left or donated to
ashrams, religious organisations or God knows where else,
when the parents felt that their negative characteristics may so infer to their
own inferiority.
You should also explore the movie and its reviews "Children of a lesser God".
Perhaps "Black" was another excellent movies. It is time that a national and state
organisations be put in place to appreciate the needs of all children with various
handicaps and disabilities:
It's been a problem in India that parents just want their children to be
doctor/engineer. They force the children to study according to that neglecting
children's inner talent and interest. In case of movie,,, i don't blame
teachers,,,, because India is highly populated,, and it's not easy to give special
attention to single student among 40 students of class. but schools should have
more creative programs so that students can show their hidden talent and i think
every school should have a psychologist who can understand student's problem...
but there is a great need of change in the thinking of parents.... if everybody is
doctor or engineer then who will teach or who will do accountancy work,,,,
