from the final days of summer,

September is my favorite month of the year. I love the excitement in the air as kids of all ages are getting back to school, and familiar routines. Dont get me wrong vacations, and lazy unplanned days of summer, are funbut everyone loves routine. Back packs by the door and pens and pencils from homework on the table are comforting sights to me. It is not just the kids going back to school that excites me. Fall is the season to take stock of your own learning. Where are you in your life growth? What do you need to work on this year? What questions are in your heart waiting for answers or consideration? That is what fall is about, that is what it is to get back to routine for me. It is that sense of discovering things anew. That being a bit older and wiser now so what you learn will be deeper and reach further. God is so good to give us spirits that yearn for wisdom and truth. I believe that God calls us to explore our faith, to find our path, to reach out in ways that are new and challenging. Fall is the season that speaks those opportunities to us well. Come to worship each week, find a place to serve in our church, join a Sunday School class or a small group. Look for someone to connect with each week, say hello, write a note to someone who is missing or needs encouragement, pick up the phone and check on someone, and especially invite someone to church each week. It is a season to learn new ways, to challenge yourself. God is so good. God is calling you to life, life abundant. Happy fall yall! pastor emily

for your support of the Mission Team on their trip to South Dakota! Your generous donations made it possible for the team to purchase over ten cases of diapers & wipes as well as cases of shampoo, conditioner, diaper rash cream, & baby wash.WOW! These items went to Tree of Lifes Warm Welcome Center, where needy families can receive a toiletry/baby item, groceries, books, & a hot meal up to four times per week. There were a variety of mission opportunities for the team to choose from each day such as working in the thrift store & clothing warehouse, participating in a construction project, making & serving meals, sorting & processing food & furniture donations in the distribution center, sewing dolls for Christmas presents, etc. Devotions were created by Phil Meckley, with each member of the group taking a turn to lead the Bible study & discussion. Additionally, the team took part in daily Lakota cultural education sessions & enjoyed one free day of sightseeing, including a trip to Mount Rushmore.

Just a bug in everyone's ear....... The next Everyone Serve Sunday will be September 29th. If you know of anyone or any place where we could help out, please let me know. We are looking for projects. We will keep you posted once projects are finalized so you can find your spot to serve! Kelli Childs Everyone Serve Leader
