(a) The Malayan Recti5ed Skew Orthomorphle (RSO) :


Thia is the grid of the projection of t.he Series which r i l l eventually super-
sede the Johore and Malny grids. The RSO grid with relevant data will
be printed in BL4CK.

lb) The Johore Cassini Glld :


This grid eextenda South from 0'2'15'N and E a t of 102'45'E. I t will be
used until superseded. With relevant grid data it will he printed in RED.

(0) The Malay Casini Grid :


This grid extends over the remainder of the Seriea North and West of the
Joltore C-ini Grid. It will be used until superseded. With relevant
grid data it will be printed in P U R P L E .

DRAINAGE

to scale without s q g e r a t i o u , otherwise rivers will be sllowt as n solid
blue line.

(d) F u t u r m below Low Water level: Will not be shorn.

(e) Names: Namea of all rivers, lakes, straits, rstusries, ooenns, canals, etc.
will be shown in BLUE.

WATER & RIVER FEATURES

38. 'Pl~csewill be classified w d symbolised as showu in Annex 'C'. In particular:-

(a) Ferry: Vehicle ferries only will be shown.

(b) Dams, tmpoundlng and Servios Ressrvolrs: The shoreline of these festuretr
will lm in BLUE but mly (man-made) retaining walls will be in BLACK.

(c) Abandoned Mlnlng Pools: When filled with water these will be treated

(d) Flsh Traps: These will he shown in rivers but not off-share.

(e) Sand or Mud: Will lw shotm in BLACK STIPPLE ae an overprint on


the light BLUE ees stipple and labslled accordingly. Areas less than

SWAMPS
30. The basic symbol for S w m p whether Fresh Watar or Tidal will be tbe BLUE
a w e n assllown in Annex 'C'. The vegetation growing in swamps will be
depicted as follows :-
(a) Jungle: By overprintirtg the swamp aynlbol with tbe Jungle screen.

(b) Belukar: By overprintu~gthe swamp symbol with solid GREEN.

(c) Nlpah: As for Jungle Swamp but overprinted with the Nip11 symbol
Eea Annex 'C.

(dl M a n m v e : As for Jungle Swamp but overprintad with the Mangrove


symbol - sea brier 'C'.

(B) R h e r Names: Tlte Swamp screen may be eliminated for river nsmsa but
