Hello,

My name’s Micah and I lead Micah’s Gang which is

based at All Saints Church. The Church serves the
villages of Woodlands and Highfields, to the North
of Doncaster.

Micah’s Gang is available to help resource local

churches in a number of ways.

The Gang is made up of Adults and Children who meet twice a month to
practise songs and sketches using some of my puppet friends. We’d love
to welcome new members who want to learn more about using puppets to
share the good news about Jesus.

Alternatively we could come and visit you, perhaps for a special occasion
or event, and share some of our favourite songs and stories.

The Gang are also available as a resource for you to borrow—

Puppets, a theatre, music, sketches and a mini sound system that you can
use wherever you are—
are—we’d also help you develop a puppet ministry and
share some of our experiences, as well as putting you in touch with experi-
enced groups who can further help and support you.

Whatever you want, Micah’s Gang is here to help. In the following pages
you’ll meet some of the gang and see what we have to offer.

The Puppets
There are three sizes of puppets

Micah is a large puppet.

Joseph and the other coloured

skin puppets are a bit smaller.

The Flowers are the smallest puppets,

along with scruff

NB: Remember to keep the sheep away

Biography:
Micah is the leader of the Gang. He is very talented and organised.

Biography:
Debbie is a cheeky chatterbox. Her mischievous streak is always get-
ting her into trouble. Micah has his hands full keeping Debbie in line
and her practical jokes are legendary.

Biography:

the Black sheep of the family after all.

Biography:
Helga can be a bit moody and is easily upset. She takes everything
too seriously. She is a teenager and everyone knows it, but she is a
loyal friend. Deep down though she just wants to be loved.

Biography:
B-Nut is a drummer—he loves playing the Bongos. He may be little
but he likes making a lot of noise. He would drum all through the
night if Micah let him. He is never without his hair gel.

Mags definitely sees herself as the “Mum” of Micah’s Gang. She al-

Biography:
Pearl’s a singer. She stands up when she plays the piano. She’s not quite as old as Mi-
cah but she won’t admit her real age. Definitely “Grandma” to the whole of Micah’s
Gang. She is particularly fond of Debbie!

Biography:
Scruff is the youngest member of Micah’s Gang and he is into eve-
rything. He loves hiding things in his bag and getting people to guess
what’s there.

Equipment
 The Theatre

At Present the puppets don’t have legs so you

need a puppet theatre to hide behind.

Ours is like the one shown above though we usu-

ally set the front the same length as the back.
The sizes are adjustable to almost any space.

We have a set of dark green curtains to hide the

puppeteers.
 PA

The Tramp PA is a fantastic unit featuring an anti-

shock CD player with LCD back lit display, plus
standard CD and MP3 format CD discs.

This unit includes 50-watt amplifier, two wirless

headset microphones and a hand held wired mi-
crophone. It has adjustable Voice Priority and a
remote control.

Best of all it can run for up to three hours on an

internal battery when charged and is loud
enough to fill a large school hall.
 Lighting
We have a small lighting rig which makes a huge
difference to how the puppets appear.

We have four Evolution Mini-250 Colour Change

Spotlights which can be controlled using our
Chauvet Junior 6 DMX Controller (It makes the
lights go on and off and change colour!)

We also have two soundlab Vasto-16 soud acti-

vated units which provide a wonderful backdrop,
a plain white mirror unit and to finish to finish
things off a 12” motorised mirror ball with
soundlab pinspot.
 Fog Machine
We have a small fog machine for making those
wonderfully atmospheric transitions.

It is difficult to tell sometimes whether it’s the fog

machine or whether Cameron has set fire to
something backstage!!!!!

We have a number of CD’s which have Christian
songs. They are well known tunes but with the lyrics
altered to have a Christian message. The tracks are
listed below. We often use some of the Vineyard
“Great Big God” music and members of the gang
have other CD’s like these which we can lend you.

So how do I make use of these resources?

First of all, get in touch. The contact details are at

the front of this booklet. We can talk through the
practicalities.

Is there a charge?
If you are going to ask us to come, we will ask you to
cover our travel expenses, but that’s all. If you are
going to borrow the puppets we will ask you to make
a small donation to cover wear and tear. If you are
wanting to borrow equipment there may be a small
charge towards replacing bulbs, etc but again, not a
huge amount.

What if something gets damaged?

You will need to make sure that your own groups in-
surance covers the puppets whilst they are in your
care. Usually your Church or group insurance will
cover equipment even if it is borrowed, ours won’t if
we are not using the puppets!
