HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 10-12; Galatians 1 Monday, September 9 Isa. 63:7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. Lord and Loving Savior: Can I not do this, especially as I approach the fall? Are there no mercies I have experienced that would let me go out this week with a testimony to __________ and __________? Even if I feel down in the dumps after the summer, can I not remember what you have done, and witness of that to them? Lord, snap the chains of some lost soul I know! Did you not come to set them freefree from sin and death and hell? Give me a precious milestone along the way by letting me lead someone to Christ! I know sick people who need to be restored. I know poor ones who have needs to be supplied. I know some are in dire straits who need to be delivered. Help them rise up and follow the light you have already given, and seek their souls salvation in Jesus Christ. You have so often answered in my own time of need. Give me the words to be a witness of Christ and a witness to his cross, and also a testimony of your great loving-kindness. My lost relatives and friends need to know how much you love them. Maybe if I can put on display your choice mercies from yesterday, then they will be emboldened to trust their heart to Jesus Christ today. Oh Lord, it may seem dark to me now, but help me turn on the lights that will tell others of your mercy. I want to glitter through the darkness by shining out your praises. 2 Cor. 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. Now help me offer it to others in Jesus stead. Amen. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS MIRACLES Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 13-15; Galatians 2 Tuesday, September 10 John 5:7-8 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. Lord of Mercy, Father of Grace: I look around and ask, Where is the impotent, paralyzed man or woman today? Because to that one I want to say in your powerful name, Rise! It is an auspicious moment when someone realizes they can actually pray to God for salvation and have it. Help them believe right now. I want them to trust in Jesus. I thank you my Jesus, that even if all I can get is a crumb from under your table, you will never take it from me. And you never cast out those who come to you. I always have the right to pray in hope and hope in your grace. There was a man one time. He could not move. He had to piggyback off another persons devotion. Matt. 9:2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. Oh my soul, get to Jesus! I must push for a touch of you today. For never was there an impotent person healed who became paralyzed a second time. Your cure can last forever as long as I go, and sin no more (John 8:11). I thank you that your healing is never revoked. That is what I can have this moment in Christ complete cleansing and pardon, immediate and full restoration. Healing for relationships. Deliverance from the withering power of sin. That is what I need today. That is why I trust you today. No one can step down in front and cut me off, because your Spirit is communing with my heart now. Bring to me through Jesus all the grace I need to glorify him. For so I ask in Jesus name. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 22-24; Galatians 5 Friday, September 13 Rom. 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another mans servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. O Lord Our Father: Give us a complete conquest of self. Especially make us deaf to our own praises, and also not too sensitive to criticism. Let us determine that to have the approval of God and a clear conscience is enough to keep us going. And make us content, gracious Lord. Save us from that discontent that is such a manifestation of distrust in you in this day. Release us from becoming a slave to change. Those that we love, if they do not love us, may we love them none the less. If by mistake they misjudge us, save us from hard feelings toward them. And God grant that we might never misjudge one another. James 5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Make us like little children who do not yet know, but know we will be told one day in the future, and so are content just to trust in the parent and believe things they do not understand. For love, 1 Cor. 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Lord, keep us humble, dependent, and yet peaceful and rejoicing. Psa. 131:2 Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. Yet make us zealous and active. Oh Savior, make us like yourself! We do not want to do so much, but to be so conformed. The conforming only comes through transforming, so work that in our midst. Because if you will make us be right, we will do right. Sweet Spirit work among us these things. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 16-18; Galatians 3 Wednesday, September 11 Rom. 13:13-14 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Lord of Glory, Master of Life: Make me honest in heart so I can be honest in word and deed. I dont need to wear a mask. I need to clearly renounce the deeds of darknessthe three pairs of evils in the areas of sensuality, impurity and passion: carousing and drinking, sleeping around and filthiness, bickering and jealousy. Even among Christians I need to pray for deliverance from these things. I have the gospel to reveal and should not have sin to conceal. Do not touch my sin with a delicate hand, but root it out. Do not let me even go near the borders of some things. I want to be revived! Help me put-off the old garments of sin, and dress in robes of holiness toward you by putting on the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my armor of light. He alone is the death of sin and the life of holiness. Eph. 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Putting on the Lord Jesus, I am covered from my nakedness. I take Jesus by faith to be a covering for my soul. He is my suit of righteousness, concealing every blemish and corruption of my flesh. He is merit to cover for my demerit. He is purity to cover my uncleanness. He is obedience to cover my rebellion. He is beauty to cover my deformity. He is perfection to cover my faults. He is acceptance to cover all my provocation. Oh, how I love Jesus! I am attractive with the attractiveness he puts on me when he is seen, and I am hidden. Perfect in righteousness, matchless in holiness, unrivaled in beauty, when I put him on I have revival! Holy Spirit help me put him on today. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 25-27; Galatians 6 Saturday, September 14 Psa. 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Glorious God and Heavenly Father: You give me two great books to study: scripture and nature, and the excellence of the Author is seen in both. I read the book of nature in three pages: heaven, earth and sea. The first page, with sun, moon and stars, supplies light for the rest of the volume. In every moment, your existence, awesome power, great goodness, and surpassing wisdom are sounded abroad by the stars. They do not only declare glory, but the glory of God, and deliver unanswerable arguments for a conscious, intelligent, planning, and controlling Creator. In the expanse of the sky you fly your starry flag to show me the King is in residence here. Psa. 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. Help me, I pray, to turn others to your Son through the second book, of scripture. Let their conversion not be outward alone, but make their soul moved and regenerated. The tool of transformation is the revealed word of God. Your witness in your word is sure; let me draw my comfort from it. Thank you Lord, that in a world of uncertainties, you give me an absolute standard to rest on. Help me hurry others from the quicksand of human speculation to the terra firma of divine revelation. As a law, your word converts; as a testimony it instructs. It is not enough for me to make convertshelp me make disciples! Once I feel the power of truth, let me go on to prove its certainty by the experience of faith in my life. First you convert, then you make wise, and now we are happy. We rejoice in you today as the only wise God. Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 19-21; Galatians 4 Thursday, September 12 Matt. 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

TO tell the Savior all my wants, how pleasing is the task? Nor less to praise him when he grants beyond what I can ask. My labring spirit vainly seeks to tell but half the joy; With how much tenderness he speaks, and helps me to reply.
Nor were it wise, nor should I choose such secrets to declare; Like precious wines their taste they lose exposed to open air. But this with boldness I proclaim, nor care if thousands hear; Sweet is the ointment of his name, not life is half so dear. And can you frown, my former friends, who knew what once I was; And blame the song that thus commends the man who bore the cross. Trust me, I draw the likeness true, and not as fancy paints, Such honor may he give to you, for such have all his saints. William Cowper, 1731-1800

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

Tell your friends Tell your family, tell your co-workers! Youre Invited! to Back to Church Sunday with me. Wont you come? Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
