Environment means the surrounding that I live on. The feeling I get from this places is what I
mean by environment. A good environment is good to me because it keeps me healthy and I’m
very happy to live in good environment .Environment is not just the nature it is everything that
surrounds me. Such is the importance that an unhealthy environment cannot just affect your
health but also your mental state. Good friends also contribute a lot to a great environment where
you feel happy and cared for. A safe environment is important to make sure you live peacefully
and do not fear for your safety. In work place you must also a good environment in order for you
to maximize your productivity. Helpful co-workers and friendly boss can keep you motivated all
the time. A good environment is always vital to everyone even the country as an unstable
environment will fear off tourist and investors and this in the other hand will affect our economy.
Environment is the key to a healthy life now. Y? Its because it this modern lifestyle we are going
through at a rapid phase in our life we are forgetting the need to save the environment .Look at
the instant at our current climate in our country, heat reaching devastating level and it’s all
because of our ignorance towards the environment itself which in other hand has brought
environment which are not healthy to live in. If we keep doing this the world will be extinct
faster that it can even mature.
The earth is still young(consider the fact that other planets in the universe are way
older)but if we don’t take the effort to save the environment that we live in than there will not
have a place called home for us nor there will be a place called earth in the universe. We build
the earth and we might the one that will also destroy it in the near future if we don’t take care of
our environment .There are many NGO and groups that take the extra effort to protect our
environment. These are the people that are called unsung heroes of our world and my many ways
in our country itself. Y? Do u ask? Well because there many local environmentalist in our
country itself. They are not so famous because our local culture that doesn’t bother about our
environment but all they care s about celebrities break up and hook up. Well that theory changed
when one environmentalist caught the attention of many people with his interesting talks and
high knowledge (of proverbs may I say)and he also became the talk of the town because of his
daring moves to tackle the issue and by that he was roped in by TV3 and after that is all history.
He is no other than our hand moving news presenter and environment lover MR.Karam singh
walia. Known to make many people squirm with his questions about environment Karam was the
true hero of many Malaysian when he bravely uncovered many environment destroying activities
in our own backyard. It will be no surprise that hear he was chased by parang wielding illegal
farmers or offered bribes totaling hundreds thousand of ringgit but this true environmentalist
really is the hero of our country as he never gave up in his fight for the environment. The things
that he does are truly remarkable to speak and it covers from illegal logging to river pollution
and even the mass use of plastic bags of our community
Mr. Karam Singh Walia, by all standards, is definitely Malaysia’s most well-known
environmental journalist. Almost every week, it seems almost every day to me, a less-than-
popular Malay idiom will come out of his mouth with his hands flying in the air relentlessly,
comically.
For at least five years now, he has been highlighting all the little local environmental issues on
Malaysian air. By little, by no way do I mean insignificant. In fact, he’s the one that is doing
more to green’s cause than anybody else that I could think of at the moment. More importantly,
he is perhaps one of the few that are fostering green grassroots in the country.
According to World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) Malaysia, two of his notable works are:
Of particular note, in October 2000, Karam’s coverage of Cameron Highlands placed highland
forest conservation issues firmly in the public eye. His efforts in Cameron Highlands resulted in
the Federal Cabinet’s freeze on development in the highlands. Subsequently, a special Cabinet
Committee on Co-ordination of Highlands and Islands was formed to help plan and manage
developments of highlands and islands in the country.
In 2002, Karam took up the issue on the threats to the Bukit Gasing green belt in Petaling Jaya.
There was an immediate response from the government and within 24 hours of the first newscast,
Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur had promised to gazette its part of the hill as a protected area.
A net search reveals that he has won several awards. Last year according to WWF-Malaysia
further, the Sultan of Perak, which is the organization patron, conferred Mr. Karam Singh Walia
with Patron’s Award last year.
As for Unitar, environment issues almost non existents in the students mind as the
university itself doesn’t do anything to promote the saving the environment. Recycle bins that
doesn’t even get full at all but always filled with rubbish explains he mind set of the students that
are ignorant to the environment issue. Rubbish are almost everywhere except for the rubbish bins
and trees are cut down almost all the time to make way for new building. Is the university fault
or the students? Well it’s both parties that do not want to work in hand to hand at one the hottest
issue in the globe currently. Students might be clever but if they are not equipped with the
knowledge to preserve the environment than there will be no point as the future for the country
will look as bleak as the sky is at the moment. Unitary must do rapid changes to its environment
policy and it must be done soon. People like can openly start rowing the boat if we know where
the destination is and to do that unitary must take the effort to the ground where active planning
and activities must be done to preserve the environment. Students for a start may can take the
incentive to start the recycling program, try to give the recycling bins a new life and for a change
students can start using more paper bags instead of plastic bags which makes up to 90% of our
waste. All the students’ effort will go to the drain if the university does not do anything to help
the cause to champion the environment.

B.
If I’m the year of 2109 I will certainly be looking more mush more sophisticated
development and technology. May be unitar will be after all virtual for real and KL look more
technological. Going by the current climate change it certainly doesn’t look bright for 2109 but I
hope with the effort of all around we can turn over a new leaf and 2109 in my dream will be
more natural and less waste as people should have the necessity technology to change the mass
waste we to something more useful to mankind KL should be more natural in the sense of having
more trees an building build with more natural surroundings. Cars should run on current of NGV
as it will preserve the environment .More renewable energy source must be used to save the
environment.
The truth the year 2109 if going by the current standard it will certainly look dark and be
a doom day. Well there might even be the possibility that there will be no 2109 year if pollution
is more rapid than preserving the environment is done. Y?does this all happen is because of our
own lack of interest in saving the environment and the use of recycling is very important as it
will be the key to a better life in the future. Renewable energy must also be used to preserve the
technology as the world needs greener environment as less pollution
