Corrosive, causes irreversible eye damage, causes skin burns, harmful if inhaled, may be fatal if swallowed, prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some individuals, causes asthmatics signs and symptoms in hyper-reactive individuals, respiration may cause lung damage. Inhalation vapor is irritating to the respiratory tract, causing stinging sensations in the nose and throat, discharge from the nose, possible bleeding from the nose, coughing, chest discomfort and tightness, difficulty with breathing, and headache. Heating the solution may result in more severe irritant effects.
SECTION 5 : FIRST AID MEASURES Eye contact: Skin contact: At once, flush with large amounts of water with eyelids open. Consult a physician. Wash immediately with plenty of water & soap. Take off all contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention.
Water, sand, carbon dioxide and foam. Wear self contaminated breathing apparatus and full protective gear. N/A
SECTION 7 : ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURE Leak/spill: Keep spectators away. Floor may be slippery. Contain spills immediately with inert materials (e.g. sand, earth). Transfer liquids & solid diking materials to separate suitable containers. Wash off remaining spills with large amounts of water.
