Fraction Pair & Tree Dalam Menguasai Penambahan Pecahan Berbeza Penyebut Dalam Bentuk Termudah.

ABSTRAK

Kajian ini bertujuan membantu murid-murid Tahun 4 dalam menguasai dan memahami konsep penambahan pecahan berbeza penyebut dalam bentuk termudah melalui intervensi alat bantu mengajar Fraction Pair & Tree. Seramai 6 orang murid telah dipilih sebagai responden kajian yang dipilih berdasarkan ujian diagnostik yang diberikan kepada 26 orang tahun 4. dan dihuraikan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Proses penguasaan konsep penambahan pecahan berbeza penyebut mengandungi 2 fasa. Fraction Pair diperkenalkan pada fasa 1 untuk memahami konsep penambahan pecahan dengan betul. Fraction Tree diperkenalkan pada fasa 2 untuk mendapat jawapan akhir pecahan dalam bentuk termudah. Instumen kajian terdiri daripada pemerhatian, analisis dokumen, temu bual separa berstruktur, jurnal pengkaji dan ujian prapasca yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitaif. Tinjauan masalah menunjukkan bahawa responden tidak menguasai konsep penambahn pecahan, tidak menyamakan nilai penyebut , tidak membuat pendaraban kepada nilai pengangka dan jawapan akhir tidak dalam bentuk termudah. Bagi mengatasi masalah ini alat bantu mengajar FPT diperkenalkan dan digunakan untuk membantu murid yang lemah dalam penguasaan konsep. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa responden telah dapat menambah pecahan berbeza penyebut dengan betul selepas intervensi Fraction Pair & Tree. Pendekatan ini telah membantu kumpulan sasaran menguasai konsep penambahan pecahan berbeza penyebut dalam bentuk yang termudah.

Fraction Pair & Tree In Mastering Adding Fractions of different Denominators In the Simplest Way

ABSTRACT

This study aims to assist year 4 pupils in mastering and understanding the concept of adding fractions of different denominator, using the simplest teaching aid, which is Fraction Pair & Tree. Six pupils are chosen as respondents based on the diagnostic test that is given to twenty-six year 4 pupils, which then are explained both qualitatively and quantitatively. The mastering process of adding fractions of different denominators consist of two phases. In phase 1, Fraction Pair is introduced to understand the correct concept of adding fractions. In phase 2, Fraction Tree is introduced to get the final answers of the fraction in the simplest way. The instruments used are observations, documents analysis, half-structured interview, researchers journal and pre-post tests. The analysis demonstrates that the respondents do not master the concept of adding fractions, do not convert all the addends to have this common denominator, do not multiply the numerators and the final answers are not in the simplest fraction. Therefore, in order to overcome this issue, FPT teaching aid is introduced and practiced to assist the learners in mastering these concepts. The result shows that the respondents succeed in adding the fractions with different denominators into the simplest fractions, after FPT intervention.
