PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore in Collaboration with Krishna & Sauarstri Associates

The concept of Intellectual Property Rights is neither new to India, nor very old. India has produced brilliant and eminent scientists such as Ramanujam, Aryabhatta, Bhaskara, Sushruta, J C Bose and many others who could not get their name and fame, their work remained, unnoticed, unknown, may be it is so, their work or innovation was utilized by someone else. Let us not repeat the same mistake again ! Today IPRs are protected only by law. From time immemorial INDIA is the source of knowledge what is today called as the Knowledge Society. The twentieth century has seen unprecedented growth in knowledge and technology, nano to nuclear car to spacecraft. Everything is being invented patented and commercialized.

There is a shortage of human resources in India, in the field of Patent Law and related work. In view of India becoming a member of PCT, WTO, TRIPS and GATT the volume of patent related work in India increases phenomenally.

Resource Persons
The program shall be guided by eminent scholars with both rich functional experience and domain knowledge in the field of IPR. The resource persons will address the participants on both theoretical and practical aspects through relevant case studies.

Methodology
The certification program is designed to be practical and pragmatic session focused on the needs of the industry. The course provides a comprehensive presentation of the methodology and illustrates the importance and relevance with case studies. The methodology adopted aims at theory classes, practical sessions, case studies, industrial exposure, interactive sessions, panel discussions etc. The participants will gain knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices and applications of IPR in various fields. They shall be equipped to effectively apply the knowledge of IPR in their respective field.

Relevance
At this juncture India is emerging as a hub for design, manufacturing, automobile, consumer electronics and many other domains. Understanding international laws, practices and competitiveness has become essential. These are the days of interdisciplinary approach, networking and outsourcing, business process outsourcing. Creativity lies where boundaries of two or more disciplines meet and cross. An exposure to IPR has become need of the day. Do we afford to miss the opportunity? In liue of this a certificate program on IPR is being organised by PESIT to provide awareness on IPR activities.
