Job Function Door-To-Door Lead Canvasser

The Beloved Community Center is looking for high-energy, motivated, personable individuals to help lead our non-partisan GOTV Campaign. Lead canvassers will be responsible for driving canvassers to their destinations, assisting canvassers while they are out on the doors, assisting in coordinating canvass logistics with mapping and tracking, verifying / validating tallies gathered during each shift and debriefing with all canvassers at the end of each shift. Lead Canvassers will also be responsible conducting a phone survey and data analysis. The ideal candidate will be a natural organizer, who learns and processes quickly, can think on their feet and work with a wide variety of people coming from different backgrounds. This is a volunteer position that last approximately 8 weeks. Lead canvassers will be given a small stipend at the end of the project. Canvassing shifts occurs on Saturday mornings. Additionally, Lead canvassers will be required to meet with a Beloved staff person at least once a week to assist with planning/preparation for the weekend canvass.

Position Requirement
Lead canvassers are expected to be available for the following shifts. Shifts last four (4) hours and occur on SATURDAYS (10:00am-2:00pm). Available Shifts Saturday, September 14th Saturday, September 28th Saturday, October 12th Saturday, October 26th Tuesday, November 5 (flexible times)

This is a short-term project that is expected to end by November 9th. This project is great for college students or high school seniors needing Service Learning hours or volunteer course credit. Skills or Related Knowledge: Strong verbal communication as well as interpersonal communication skills required. Lead canvassers must remain organized and accurate when helping canvassers record canvassing activities and maintaining canvassing materials. Individuals must be professional as well as self-directed and able to work well in a team.
