Shaykh Abu Muhammad Ali bin Said bin Hazm Adz-Dzahiry El Andalusy said, the most excellent words that we say when starting any activities is Praising Allah with all proper praise for Allah. Blessing and salutation opum the most honorable prophet and messenger, Muhammad Saw., his family, all his disciples, and his faithful followers who strive in Allahs religion of Islam. Respectable suvervisor of public speaking, honorable beautiful teachers, and all my audiences who are competing in goodness. On nthis great occasion, and on this gracing place Id like to present my speech, under the title: MOSLEMS ATTITUDE FACES PROGRESS OF TECHNOLOGICAL INFORMATION Dear brothers and sisters! Advances in information technology and communications today, are increasingly penetrating the boundaries of life. Theres a necessity, religious people in Era af tectonic infoemation to be able to become the master technology information. Islam as a religion cannot run away from the onslaught of technology. In this century, who can control the information, he will dominate the order of life. Brothers and sisters! In the perspective of Islam, technology is Wasail, it means an intermediary, thats not a Ghayah or destination. So, Moslem must be prudent to wade todays technology stream. Here, we are required to know how we could live according to Islamic texts, but on the other hand we also need to put ourselves abreast with the development of Era. So, I would like to inform that there are several steps that we can take for reponse the technological developments in this decade. The first one brothers, we must keep to open ourselves to the science and technology which is developing in our society. Dont shut yourself against this development, because it would only give the impression that Islam is a religion that doesnt up to date. Whereas on the contrary, Islam is very suitable with the technological development. Because God has given us the knowledge, Allah state in the noble Quran, that means: Allah gave al-Hikmah (science, law, philosophy, and wisdom) to whomever he wills. And whoever is awarded al-Hikmah, he really has granted the abundant

gift. And only an intellect human who can get the lesson of the commandments of Allah. Surely, we are forbidden to ignore that matter, that we have to do is we should use it nicely ofr our survival life in this world. And remember Allah never give something that doesnt have a benefit. Moslem brothers! Secondly, when we face the technological Era, dont forget to remind the Creator of it. Expand to stare the Al-Quran, because there are many verse that talking about technology. Example, Qs. Al-Anbiya: 80, in this verse Allah commanded Prophet Daud to make a tool that he can use for perfection his life, Allah not only commanded Prophet Daud but also commanded us to do it so. Beside it, when we stare Allahs verses together, thats verse of kauniyah and qauliyah, we can feel that we didnt have anything above Allahs Authority. Dear Moslem in one aqidah! Thirdly, we must be balanced in the learn of life. We must devide which is the portion of the life in this world, and which is the portion to the life hereafter. Rasulullah Saw. has remind us about this, trough his hadist: It is not the best among you are, someone who left his world affairs because (he persue) his eternity affairs. And it also (not the best) someone who left his eternity affairs because persue his world affairs, until he got both of them. Because this world just (the intermediaries) that convey to the next life, and dont become a burden for the other. Happy brothers and sisters! And the last, The Sage said, In todays world human lust is greator than his wits. Moslem is required to be able to control his desires, by enhance our servitude to The Creator. Im convinced that in this technological cebtury and globalization Era, Moslem should have the strategic steps to embody quality of faith and taqwa. But shouldnt left the science and technology development. Beside that we have to smart to fix the choice. I would like to finish by reminding everyone lets make all science and technology to enforce Allahs Sharia for prosperity and justice as willed by Allah. And to align the life with the moral value of Islam. Dear Moslems in Blessing of Allah! Perfection is only belongs to Allah as The Creator, and the lessness is belong to me as the creatures.
