MANAGEMENT

The School of Management, Information Technology and Governance offers a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a Master of Commerce programme in Management at the Westville Campus. Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Management The programme aims to provide students with the most contemporary and up-to-date account of the changing environment of management and management practices. Programme structure Students are required to complete six modules from the list of prescribed modules and to complete a research project. It is possible to register for the degree as either a full-time or a part-time student. Programme teaching method For full-time students, lectures are held during the day and the programme duration is one year. Lectures for part-time students are held in the School on Mondays to Thursdays, from 17:30 to 20:30, and the programme duration is two years. Attendance is compulsory. Programme modules The following modules will be presented in the programme: Research Methodology Corporate Strategy Business Behaviour Special Topics in Advanced Business Studies Advanced Global Business Any module approved by the Head of School. A Research Project

Eligibility Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelors degree, having majored in Management, with the basic requirement being a minimum overall average of 55%.

MANAGEMENT

Master of Commerce in Management The programme aims to develop a specialised knowledge of aspects in Management and to provide students with opportunity to analyse case studies. Programme structure Students are required to complete six modules from the list of prescribed modules and to complete a dissertation. The programme duration is two years. Programme teaching method To accommodate individuals in employment the programme is run on a part-time basis only, with seminars being held in the School on Mondays to Thursdays, from 17:30 to 20:30. Attendance is compulsory. Programme modules The following modules will be presented in the programme: Advanced Research Methodology Advanced Business Research Methods Management of Advanced Strategy Advanced Topics in Management

Programme teachers Both programmes will be team-taught by Management experts and practitioners. Eligibility Applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree, with the basic requirement being a minimum overall average of 60%.
