OBJECTIVES: To integrate the principles of Essential Intrapartum and Newborn Care (EINC) into the BSN curriculum SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: 1. To develop a standardized instructional design containing valid objectives, content, teaching learning strategies and evaluation techniques that are congruent to each other

2. Standardize the curriculum so that all nursing graduates will be equipped with the same competencies expected for the implementation of the EINC program.

Training Program on the Integration of EINC in the BSN Curriculum

The project will be conducted in 4 phases Phase I Preparation of Program Cooperation Agreement (PCA) with UNICEF on the ADPCN project on the Integration of EINC in the BSN Curriculum Phase II - Training of Trainers and core group /Trainer representing Luzon,Visayas, Mindanao and National capital Region

Phase III - Conduct of training for nursing schools nationwide on the integration of EINC in the BSN Curriculum Phase IV Monitoring and evaluation of the integration of EINC in the Curriculum

Intended beneficiaries:

480 nursing schools in the Philippines

Curricular reform through integration of EINC in the BSN curriculum applying OBE

OUTPUT

Increased access to high impact preventive services for pregnant women Increased coverage of births attended by skilled birth attendants (SBA) Increased number of facility-based deliveries, with postnatal care among postpartum

Improved quality of facility based Intrapartum and postpartum care Neonatal care

Expected results of the training program: 10 Core Trainors for all nursing colleges trained Instructional design for integration of EINC in the BSN Curriculum developed for submission to CHED and Board of Nursing Trained faculty members from all colleges of nursing in the Philippines to integrate EINC
