GORDONS FUNCTIONAL HEALTH PATTERN Health Perception and Health Management Pattern Patient R.C.C.

perceived himself before as a healthy man because he has no any signs and symptom of any disease. He also mentioned that her perceived himself as a strong, hardworking and easy going person, until when he knew that he has a lung disease, he was disappointed and reflected that these maybe a complication due to his vices at early age and his workplace. Patient has no familial history of any lung problem but confirmed that his mother is hypertensive. Nutritional and Metabolic Pattern The patient is on soft diet with strict aspiration precaution. He eats small amount of foods only. Before hospitalization days, he has a good appetite but now it decreases even though she wants to eat, she feels nauseated whenever she eats more and he has poor appetite because of his chest pain and difficulty of breathing. He drinks 6-8 glass of water a day. He noticed an obvious weight loss in because according to her, she was around 46 kg before and now she is 43.5 kg. Elimination Pattern The patient reported that he do not have any problem associated to bowel elimination. She urinates 7-9 times a day, yellowish in color, with no complain of discomfort. Before, he perspires excessively after his work at the chemical factory. Activity-Exercise Pattern Patient reported that he does not engage to any form of exercise other than walking. And according to him, his work serves as his everyday exercise. In present, he needs assistance in doing self care like bathing because of easy fatigability. Sleep-Rest Pattern Patient R.C.C sleeps7-8 hours before but now that he is in hospital, it only lasts for 5-6 hours. And sometimes her sleep was interrupted due to sudden onset of difficulty of breathing. He usually takes naps for 1-2 hours every afternoon. When he wants to have some relaxation, he usually watch television and listen to the radio. But now that he is in the hospital, he spends time for reading newspapers and listening to the radio.

Cognitive-Perceptual Pattern The patient doesnt have hearing difficulties or vision problems. He still has a good memory. He is a high school graduate. Self-Perception and Self-Concept Pattern The patient feels healthy before, but now that he already knew that has lung disease, he is now more cautious about his health and especially the environment. He thinks positively in his life. Role-Relationship Pattern The patient lives together with his three other sisters and his father. He is single. He mentioned that they have a good family ties and respect each other. They usually cooperate with each other when it comes to family decision. Coping-Stress Tolerance Prayers give him strength to hold on. At his early age he usually takes alcohol and cigarettes to relieve her tension. Sometimes, when he is lonely and bored, he usually mingle with his peers and barkadas through drinking of alcohol. Value-Belief Pattern He is a Roman Catholic. He practices the value and traditions of Christianity. He admitted that he seldom go to church every Sunday.
