I will allow students 2 minutes for students in each group to write. Then all groups will have to rotate to the next picture. I will rotate around the room and circle any words that come close to the target vocabulary for the lesson.

Connections: The Broad & Narrow Strokes of Learning

(Interaction, Application, & Accommodation) Directions: Once all groups have returned to the original charts they will have to review all the information that was placed on the chart. I will ask students to identify common ideas or vocabulary by circle them or connecting them with a line.

Students will have to find connecting words found on the paper. I will share with the students the academic vocabulary words for the day and have them for associations between the words on the posters and the academic vocabulary of the topic. I will ask students to share the associations from the posters and I will have them add the actual academic vocabulary words of the lesson to the poster. After students have finished adding to the posters I will ask them predict what the lesson is going to be about based on the pictures and words that are on the posters. I will provide opportunities to the groups to confirm or discorfirm their predictions about the lesson by clarifying their understandings of the vocabulary words.
