DIAVAL SLEEVE PTFE SEALING PLUG VALVES

Design Attributes of Plug Valves

DIAVAL range of Plug Valves are rugged and of simple design, are of reduced bore non-lubricated plug type, can be operated
by hand or remote actuators and are of easy maintenance thanks to the top entry design. The valves can be provided with straight
through or three way design with diverse plug - flow arrangements.
Some of the salient features are outlined as follows:
1 Complete range of actuation; Hand
lever with stop limiter, Worm Gear by
Hand Wheel, Pneumatic and Electric
Actuators. Easy anchoring of mounting brackets.

2 Adjustable in line seal; Bolts in the

top cover provide quick and easy
adjustment. Adjust out in-line leakage between shutdowns. Adjust out
potential stem leakage.

4 Dual Stem Sealing;

The primary stem seal
is around the circumference of the plug. Flow
media is prevented
from reaching the stem.
The secondary backup
seal system provides a
wide comprehensive
backup seal along the
top edge of the plug
and the stem.

3 Diverse Packing Options; Graphite

and PTFE to meet diverse performance. Stuffing box of diverse profile.
5 Balancing Vent Hole; It keeps the
pressure balanced in the plug and
body cavities.
6 Full Plug Rotation; To 360, its shape
combined with the full rotation provides
a self cleaning action by removing scaling and adhering media. Smooth finished surface assures reduced torque
and low wear.
7 Cavity Free design; It prevents the
flow to contaminate the process or
accumulate in form of dead pockets.
Avoids valve sticking.
8 Diverse End Connections; To meet
all requirements in the installation:
flanged to DIN or ANSI, screwed and
welding ends.

9 Tight PTFE sleeve; Surrounds the plug

completely ensuring a tight sealing. The
sleeve is inserted in the body and fixed
with high pressure lips. These lips prevent
sleeve rotation and deformation. Self lubricating PTFE sleeve; No seizure of the
plug, smooth after time out of operation.

DIAVAL SLEEVE PTFE SEALING PLUG VALVES

Design Attributes of Plug Valves

Plug valves are one of the most widely used valves for both on/off and throttling
services in the process industry. Plug Valves are of a simple design consisting
of three main parts: body, cover and plug. The plug is a cylindrical, tapered, or
generally cone-shaped device that can be raised or lowered within the seat to
maintain, restrict or completely shut off flow. The valve is opened by rotation,
with the plug itself being the only moving element.

Plug Valve designs may be of Lubricated plug type and Non-Lubricated plug type.
Lubricated Plug Type valves are featured by the lubricant helping to control leakage around the plug, whilst reduces wear
between the valve contact surfaces, and slightly lifts the plug to reduce the operating torque required to operate the valve.
The Non-lubricated-plug valve type is that one of the DIAVAL portfolio. They are provided with an elastomeric sleeve or plug
coating with a low coefficient of rubbing friction. Valves are of reduced bore, bi-directional and tight shut off.
Plug valves are extremely versatile valves that are found widely in low-pressure sanitary and industrial applications, especially
petroleum pipelines, chemical processing and related fields, and power plants. They are high capacity valves that can be used
for directional flow control, even in moderate vacuum systems. They can safely and efficiently handle gas and liquid fuel, and
extreme temperature flow, such as boiler feed water, condensate, and similar elements. They can also be used to regulate
the flow of liquids containing suspended solids (slurries).
The cage plug assembly protects the seat from erosion in throttling applications by shielding the soft seat from direct flow
impingement at the valve ports. The cage mechanism also serves to reduce turbulence and the cutting action of high velocity
liquids, slurries and gaseous vapours by providing a more direct, contoured flow path through the valve.
Plug Valves are an excellent complementary product enhancing the DIAVAL portfolio of valves for the
process industry and can be encountered in same applications and industries. Typical usage can be found in Waste Sludge,
Brine, Soda Ash, Titanium Dioxide, Scrubber Effluent, Heavy Black Liquor, Lime Mud, Digester Relief, Caustic Soda, Clay
Slurry, Starch Slurry, Calcium Carbonate Slurry, Fly Ash Slurry, Tank Bottom Residues, Sodium Chlorate Solution and other
erosive media.
For questions on application, please contact DIAVAL product engineers.

Floating Ball Valves, Split Body Design API standard

Floating ball valves mean the most conventional type amongst all other
ball valve designs; it is featured by the action of a free-floating ball that
moves in response to fluid or mechanical pressure. Floating ball valves
constitute an optimal option for On / Off applications on the oil, gas and
process industries. They are quarter turn valves having proved excellent
tightness rate and can be operated by means of a manual hand lever,
worm gear and also actuators. Some salient features of the Series BV4API-F are amongst others:

. Full bore ball design.

. Reliable seat sealing helped by the pressure of the line medium.
. Fire Safe design; (optionally), auxiliary metal seals are provided to
avoid internal and atmospheric leakage of the valve when subject to
overheating conditions. This feature is compliant with API 607, API 6 FA,
BS 6755.

Series BV-API-F

Reliable stem sealing, blow out proof stem design and V-shaped packing
units around the stem.

. Anti static stem.

. Key locking device, pad locking and stroke limiter

Optional Fire safe design

FIRE safe design of stem

FIRE safe design of seat

Please observe Operating and Maintenance Rules as well as all

essential safety requirements and labour health care guidance before
valve installation and plant start up.

Trunnion Ball Valves API standard
Trunnion ball valves have a mechanical means of anchoring the ball at the top
and the bottom, this design is usually applied on larger and higher pressure
valves (say 4 inch and above 600 psi and above). They constitute an optimal
option for On / Off applications on the oil and gas industries. They are quarter
turn valves having proved excellent tightness rate and are commonly operated
by means of a manual worm gear or electric actuators. Some salient features
of the Series BV4-API-T are amongst others:

. Emergency grease injection device, to keep the emergency tightness to the

seats and stem in the event of soft goods damage.

Series BV-API-T

Fire Safe design; (optionally), auxiliary metal seals are provided to avoid
internal and atmospheric leakage of the valve when subject to overheating
conditions. This feature is compliant with API 607, API 6 FA, BS 6755.

.
.

Double block & Bleed function.

Anti static stem.

Self relief of built up pressure in the body cavity by propelling the ball seat.
Reliable stem sealing, blow out proof stem design and V-shaped packing units
around the stem.

Optional Fire safe design

Fire safe design for seat

Fire safe design of valve

body and bonnet flanges

Fire safe design for stem

Please observe Operating and Maintenance Rules as well as all

essential safety requirements and labour health care guidance before valve
installation and plant start up.

HIGH PERFORMANCE DOUBLE OFFSET BUTTERFLY VALVES

UNIVAL Series 91 Butterfly Valves are of double Offset design being the disc
offset from the centre of the valve body. This valve range is the most suitable for
throttling applications although can also serve its purpose for on / off operations.
Series 91 are flangeless designs which are manufactured to Wafer and Lug Styles.
Valves are of rugged design and easy to install and handle by the plant operator; with
a great range of materials combination between valve bodies , discs and seats, an
absolute on / off tightness feature and moderate flow control, the double offset
butterfly valves mean a second to none choice for chemical utilities, oil and gas
industries. These valves, unlike others, have no dead pockets where the media
becomes trapped when closing the valve. The metal seated valve is fire safe designed
what increase the suitability for the oil and gas sector. Valves can be operated by
hand lever, worm gears and rotary actuators.

Series VF91

* Please observe Operating and Maintenance Rules as well as all essential safety requirements and labour
health care guidance before valve installation and plant start up. More detailed information not found in these
data sheets can be provided by our Product Specialists on request.

FLOW COEFICIENTS FOR VALVES SERIES VF91 (Cv)

Butterfly Valves Flow coefficients are very favourable with inside diameter close to inside pipe diameter. Sizing
the correct flow capacity is of essence to maintain the right valve performance avoiding under sizing effects
such as high built up pressure and pressure drops or over sizing leading to control problems, flashing,
cavitation or erosion of trim parts.
The Flow Coefficient is determined by the ratio between flow rate and Pressure Drop across the valve and is
defined as the flow of cold water in Gallons per minute which will produce a pressure loss of one pound per
square inch across a valve.
