TREE SALE
On September 6, 2013 the Maysville judging team traveled to the Garvin County Free Fair to compete. Pictured, from left are: Emma Wollenberg, Cade Cantrell, Zachary Green, Makayla Green, Shyann McWhirter, Amanda Green, and Shante Seals. The junior livestock team consists of Emma Wollenberg, Cade Cantrell, Zachary Green, and Makayla Green. Makayla Green received 1st high individual and Zachary Green received 2nd high individual. Participants were Emma Wollenberg and Cade Cantrell. The senior FFA livestock team consists of Shyann McWhirter, Amanda Green, and Shante Seals. The Garvin Conservation District is hosting its annual tree sale. Order forms may be picked up at the local District Office located at 20118 S. Indian Meridian, PV. Please call 405-2387233 for any questions. Orders must be turned in by January 31, 2014. Trees need to picked up February 19, 2014.

Festival 5k Run set for Sept. 28 at Tishomingo Wildlife Refuge The Chickasaw Annual Meeting and Festival 5K Run and Fun Walk is set at 8 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge. The competition is another way the tribe promotes fitness, wellness and good health. Best of all, it's free. Additionally, it gets you up off the sofa and gets you moving toward becoming healthy and staying that way. And, if you win the competition, that's just icing on the proverbial cake because you gave up icing in order to win the race anyway. The event kicks off at the beginning of a week-long Festival that culminates with the Annual Meeting the following Saturday, Oct. 5. Online pre-registration is available at hap: I / dgroadracing.com. I am proud to announce the names of the Maysville Junior Class King and Queen, attendants, and officers for the 2013-2014 school year. Our class King and Queen are Colton Johnson and Hailee Deaton. Their attendants are Tanner Stephenson and Brooklyn House. Our Yearbook Queen Candidate is Nattilee Cornelius. Class Officers are president - Josie Donham, vicepresident - Dalton Elmore, secretary - Brooklyn House, treasurer - Laura Webb, and reporter - Priscilla O'Dell. Our Student Council representatives are Paige Cooper and Nattilee Cornelius. Homecoming will be October 25th, and our float theme is Kenny Rogers, "The Gambler."
