Cultures Fall Semester 2013 - 2014 Assignment 3 (Quiz) September 13th 2013
The most vital characteristics of Islamic Civilization among all civilizations all the way through the history are the following. Islam was destined to become a world belief and to create a civilization which stretched from one end of the globe to the other. Already throughout the early Muslim caliphates, first the Arabs, then the Persians and subsequent the Turks set about to create classical Islamic civilization. Later, in the 13th years, both Africa and India became large hubs of Islamic civilization and shortly thereafter Muslim kingdoms were established in the Malay-Indonesian world while Chinese Muslims flourished all through ceramic. Islam is a belief for all people from whatever rush or background they might be. That is why Islamic civilization is founded on a harmony which stands completely against any racial or ethnic discrimination. Such foremost racial and ethnic groups as the Arabs, Persians, Turks, Africans, Indians, Chinese and Malays in supplement to many lesser units embraced Islam and assisted to the construction of Islamic civilization. Moreover, Islam was not opposed to discovering from the previous civilizations and incorporating their science, discovering, and heritage into its own world outlook, as long as they did not be against the values of Islam. Each ethnic and racial assembly which embraced Islam made its assistance to the one Islamic civilization to which every person belonged. The sense of brotherhood and sisterhood was so much emphasized that it overcame all localized additions to a specific tribe, rush, or language--all of which became subservient to the universal Brotherhood and sisterhood of Islam. The global civilization therefore conceived by Islam permitted persons of varied ethnic backgrounds to work simultaneously in cultivating diverse creative pursuits and sciences. Although the civilization was profoundly Islamic, even non-Muslim took part in the intellectual undertaking whose fruits belonged to every person. The technical climate was reminiscent of the present situation in America where researchers and men and women of learning from all over the world are active in the advancement of information which pertains to everyone. Generally speaking, civilization is the yield of all efforts made by humans to improve their living conditions, regardless of whether such effort is intentional or not or whether its outcomes are material or moral. Therefore, the Islamic civilization is the blessed fruit of the efforts made by the Islamic Ummah throughout different ages to improve life and better human conditions.

I can conclude that civilization being a response to human needs, the Islamic civilization has met all these needs at different eras and had been, for many decades, the uncontested leading civilization of the world. The Islamic civilization has therefore the privilege of setting up the cornerstone of modern European civilization since it had contributed through its achievements in the areas of medical science, pharmacy, chemistry, mathematics and physics, to the acceleration of the advent of the renaissance and the ensuing revival of different sciences which continued, since then, to develop and yield.
