Questions?
Q1: What is the life span of plasma displays?
A1:Plasma displays are equivalent to CRT based. The life expectancy of any display product is highly dependent on customer usage.

Q2: What is the browning effect?

A2: What is being described is a loss of brightness over time thus creating a brown or yellowish effect in the picture. Currently, there is not a set standard to determine when this will happen. There are two reasons why it is difficult. First, product usage will vary among owners thus effecting when the plasma panel starts to dim. Secondly, each manufacturer utilizes different ingredients to make phosphors. So manufacturers will vary as well.

Questions?
Q3: Does Sony make its own panels?
A3: We manufacture the television product but do outsource various components. The panel is only one component of Plasma WEGA. Sony engineers spend a lot of time and resources to improve the overall performance of the products experience for the consumer.

Q4: What type of image am I seeing? Is it progressive or interlace?

A4: With plasma displays, video signals are no longer scanned directly to the panel. Sonys *Digital Pixel Generator takes a full frame of video, regardless of format, and illuminates the appropriate pixels that make up the panel.

Questions?
Q5: Is it true that as pixels burn out, the remaining pixels compensate? Will this have an effect on the products life span?

A5: The failure of a pixel may be a malfunction of components or wire damage. Each cell on a plasma panel isnt seal from one another. So, if a dead pixel is next to a functioning pixel, the gas from the functioning pixel may flow into the adjacent pixel. Therefore, giving the illusion that one pixel is doing the job of two.

What is the ALIS Method?

FHP is going to produce mainly PDP home TV set of type 32, and 42 by completely adopting the ALIS Method developed by Fujitsu. Features of the ALIS Method: - The display appears with as high a degree of minuteness as the one produced by the traditional (VGA) method. -(HDTV can be accommodated without enlarging the circuit scale!) -It utilizes all spaces between electrodes for light-emitting. (It improves the brightness through high rate aperture efficiency)

What is the ALIS Method?

ALIS Method Display :
-The light-emitting feature of the ALIS method is displayed using a time division system. The display lines of an odd number and those of an even number are displayed in turn at a high speed. -With the help of persistence-of-vision in the human eye, vivid and images can be seen.
