CON pays tribute to Seniors Erika Alyanna Bobiles

After a week of tedious examinations and completion of requirements for graduation, College of Nursing organized its first ever Senior Socialization last March 8 as a tribute to CON graduates of 2013. This served as a treat and a breath of fresh air to the graduating students, as they disregard their usual white uniform and don semi-formal outfits and let down their hair during the event held at the Lorma gymnasium. This socialization was organized by the CON faculty with the help of the Nursing Student Body Organization undergraduate officers, as a time for the seniors to reflect on the fruits of their four-year endeavor as student-nurses. One of the highlights of the program is the recognition of all academic achievers from the CON department and top notchers for the comprehensive examinations conducted by the said department and Carl Balita Review Center. Student-leaders, headed by NSBO President Christian Clyde Apigo and chairmen of each graduating class were also recognized and were given a chance to speak in behalf of their fellow seniors. All of them spoke of unwavering thanks to their mentors and firm belief in ones capability and promise, that is, to top the much awaited Nursing Licensure Examination. Special awards were also given to the seniors who showcased outstanding organizing abilities in the recently conducted seminars. BSN IV-Ladderized emerged as the Best Organizers, while BSN IV-1 and BSN IV-5 bagged the Best in Attendance and Most Entertaining Number respectively. Another set of special recognition were given to Steven Jomar de la Pea and Mylen Villanueva for showing great talents in dancing and singing. As a gift to the seniors, simple tokens such as laminated notes and pencils that can be used in their review were given to them. According to CON Dean, Mrs. Ludivina Magpali, the pencils are to be used in the board exams and will be blessed when they will have the prayer service before the NLE. Performances from students from all levels were dedicated to the graduating class of 2013 which included song renditions from the CON faculty members and even the Dean herself. Movie presentations of their experiences in LC-CON were also displayed as part of the finale of the socialization. Meanwhile, as part of the whole day affair, cases were defended in the Grand Case Presentation, with the juniors, Marjorie de Guzman, Jessica Flores, Antoinette Catbagan and Gian Lardizabal, as the winners who successfully defended their case study from the panels. The CON population also gathered in the gymnasium to participate in the Bingo Socials organized by the NSBO officers, with Daniel Matthew Delfinado as the days bingo master. Cash prizes were given to the winners of the various Bingo patterns. #
