FLOCCIN

Superior flocculating agents for enhanced wastewater treatment for a better world

What is Floccin?
Our Floccin products are a nonhazardous one-step wastewater treatment product that replaces the traditionally used (and often hazardous) coagulants and flocculants. Each distinct Floccin agent blend provides a multitude of reactions for wastewater treatment that simultaneously coagulate, break emulsified oils in water, ion exchange to encapsulate contaminants, and flocculate to separate solids from the water stream. This single product is designed to remove or greatly reduce the following:

BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) TSS (Total Suspended Solids) TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) EC (Electrical Conductivity) Emulsified Fats, Oils and Grease Phosphates Metals

Cost Benefits
Oil and Metal recovery

Cost Savings
Less chemicals/additives to buy Fewer or no surcharges for over No / Minimal hazardous waste

potential, both of which are resalable commodities

Potential increase in system

disposal fee
Decrease in hauling and

the limit environmental contaminants

Less onsite storage space

disposal fees
Potential decrease in water,

capacity through increased flow potential and decreased environmental discharge (keeping you at or below limits)

needed
Typically no filter press pre-coat No drum disposal costs

sewer and environmental testing costs through onsite water reuse

Decreased labor costs

Floccin vs. Traditional Chemicals

FLOCCIN
1 Step Process : Floccin Agent Decreased steps = decreased labor costs Minimal storage needed for product Less items to purchase = decrease in overall purchasing costs

TRADITIONAL
3+ Step Process : acid, caustic, flocculants, dewatering aids, and more More steps = more labor costs Extra storage space needed for multiple chemicals More chemicals to purchase typically adds up to equal or greater overall cost

Minimal pH dependency VERY pH dependent Works in a wider range of pH and will often lower pH levels This causes over-dosing and under-dosing that impacts without additional steps cost and water quality One Nonhazardous Material Floccin constituents meet at least one of the following standards: NSF 60 for drinking water application GRAS status as defined by the FDA Granular form = no dust Low- / Non-Hazardous Sludge *We have consistently passed STLC/TCLP EPA requirements Sludge can be land-filled at little to no extra cost Company liability for landfill leachates is minimized or eliminated Greatly reduced contaminants = Greatly reduced or eliminated surcharges Typically No Diatomaceous Earth (DE) needed Filter presses do not typically need a pre-coat of DE when using Floccin. Even when used about 50% less DE is required. No Drum / Tote Storage Floccin is delivered in disposable bags or reusable Super Sacks Dry / High Shear Strength Sludge Dry sludge is lighter and has less volume = decreased hauling and disposal fees No additional polymers needed to rebuild the floc Lower suspended solids (solid carry thru) after dewatering eliminates or decreasing retreatment *Less sludge is produced overall adding to the benefits Multiple Hazardous Materials Handler must have OSHA safety training for handling hazardous materials Increased insurance costs for employees handling hazardous materials Many come in powder form = dust Typically Hazardous Sludge Must pay for hazardous waste disposal Large companies may need to register as hazardous waste producer

Minimal reduction in contaminants = Minimal reduction in surcharges Diatomaceous Earth (DE) typically needed For every pound of DE used about 3 lbs of sludge is generated incurring more disposal costs Drum / Tote Storage A non-refundable $45 disposal fee is charged per drum Full and Empty drums require hazardous material level storage space Wet / Low Shear Strength Sludge Wet sludge is heavy and has a greater volume = greater hauling and disposal fees, or the cost of additional dewatering Additional polymers may be needed to rebuild the floc Increased solid carry means more chemistry required to retreat

Increased Flow Capacity Limited Flow Capacity Floccin makes a larger floc which settles or floats faster Many chemicals can take hours to settle slowing which allows for greater wastewater processing in less processing time time High environmental discharge may mean only producing as much as environmental discharge limits Floccin yields water with lower contaminant levels or surcharge costs will allow decreasing or eliminating surcharges 40308 Greenwood Way, Oakhurst, CA 93644 ph: (559) 683-8284 fax: (559) 683-8913 sales@wecleanwater.com

Results That Count

OIL FIELD SLUDGE DEWATERING
Major swings in solid loading and oil content made it difficult to control the correct dosage with conventional chemistry. Before Time: 3 months Gallons Dewatered: 15,000 After Time: 8 hours months Gallons Dewatered: 50,000

GOLD RECOVERY
The manufacturing of jewelry is comprised of molding to form the jewelry followed by a polishing step, then deburring or ultrasonic cleaning. These steps leave residual gold in the rinsing and ultrasonic cleaning waters. Before Recovery: 25% After Recovery: 100% *ROI: >273% *this includes smelting costs
