It's hard to believe that Fall Break is already almost here! It seems like the new semester started only yesterday. Summer 2014 may likewise seem a long way off, but it too will be here before we know it. That makes Fall Break a great time to start thinking about your summer plans. Are you thinking of traveling or studying abroad? The Honors College offers programs in Brussels and (through the Duckenfield Scholarship) in Oxford, and, through our Enrichment Travel Grant program, the chance to apply for up to $3000 to go anywhere (smaller Enrichment Grants are also available for Winter Break). But there are countless other opportunities, many offered by other Clemson faculty and departments. If you're interested in a job or an internship, now is the time to start looking. Some programs have surprisingly early deadlines (State Department internship applications are due November 1, for example). If you're going home for Fall Break, you might want to look into opportunities in your local area, or talk to your parents about the logistics (financial and otherwise) of your going elsewhere. Whatever you do, get some R&R, catch up on some work, and enjoy the long weekend. Above all, go and return in safety. - Dr. Lasser
