Lauren's first birthday. I can only say it was my first attempt at decorating a cake, planning a birthday party, and wrapping gifts for my own child's birthday. I hope all of which will improve
over the next 17 years!

time I hear a bell, a knock at the door, or the phone ring I bellow out my new word. Mom seems to think it is fimny unless I do it in a public place. I have also learned how to sing pretty songs and dance to music. I am learning a lot these days. 1 know all the parts of my body by name and I have all of my teeth

also still receiving Christmas cards, so that helps add to the winter season for us. I have been learning many things since the last newsletter was written. These are things I never
thought I would find myself doing. 1 have planted my first vegetable garden in our yard. I first began by

Recently, Frank Malunga, preacher of one of our main city churches, and I started a ministiy in the Blantyre Prison. Malunga was really the one who pushed it. He really seemed to have a burning pas sion to start this difficult work, and I already knew why. When Malunga was in his early twenties, he was deeply involved with the things of the world. He drank heavily and was always found at one of the market pubs having the time of his life. One night, the consequences caught up to him in a hurry.
