Periodic Inspections & Preventive Maintenance

The type of the Inspections and the schedule for the first 20yrs of Operation is
specified in the IMM of the Contractor based on the executed risk analysis

by Advitam. 1. Inspection-maintenance types

a.

Regular and Detailed

Type A (every year) Type B (every 2 years) Type C (every 4 years) Type D (every 4 years the first time and after every 8 years)

b.

Method of inspections & Data Management

1. Computerized Inspections.
Customized software (ScanPrint) according to the Maintenance Manual requirements was developed by Advitam for the Inspection missions and the data management Defects type and position is clearly defined (drawings, photos, etc) Handheld computers are used by the inspectors

2. Inspection Data Management

Data are stored in a database (easy historical retrieving)

Minimized interfaces from inspection to analysis

Automatic factual reports are issued

Analysis report and recommendations for the deteriorated areas treatment is provided by the inspection company
Statistical analysis for the rating, evolution, location of each defect type will be available

Objective: Optimized long-term maintenance program.

Conclusions

63

The Inspection-Maintenance and Monitoring program applied on the Rion-Antirion Bridge ensures:
1. The continuous structural monitoring of the Bridge maintaining the high-level of safety to the users.

2. The advanced detection of possible deterioration with minimum inspection time with the computerized inspection software (ScanPrint).
3. The storage of all the inspection data in one single database. 4. The time-effective management of inspection data.

5. The optimization of maintenance (cost and time reduction, less traffic restrictions).
