Learning Styles

o Visual (25%) teacher show the presentation by using MS Power Point students answer the question students make the discussion to solve the problem Using manipulative materials to make students more understand about the concept. Using a tray of sand to draw the shape on it by hand. Using problem solving skills to solve the problems that related with 2-D Page | 2 o Auditory (Aural) (25%)

o Kinesthetic (Hands On) (50%)

shape.

State Objectives 90% Year 2 Mawar students will be able to identify the appearance of twodimensional shapes as a whole and able to label parts of 2-D shapes when given the task and will involve actively. Select Media, Materials, and Methods Using cooperative learning and discussion to reach the objectives for the lesson. Manipulative materials which is the shape of circle, triangle, square, oval and rectangle to make students more understand about the concept and to attract students attention. It also can make students enjoy with the lesson. If I use this method, I can help students to identify the appearance of 2D shape clearly. These materials will be create by the teacher by using the color paper. Tray of sand where I will put the sand in the tray and make a group of 4. I will let the students draw the 2D shape on the sand. It is the first step for them before they draw in their exercise book. Besides, it can make the lesson interesting and as we know, children like to play with sand every day.

Note Book and LCD (MS-Power Point.) to make the lesson happening and can attract students attention with the colorful of shape. If use the worksheet and just draw on blackboard, students will bored because use the same method of teaching. By using Power Point, I have put some animations and put colorful of shape to make them happy and put full attention with the lesson. Students also can compare the shape and identify the same shape whether from different size and positions. This Power Point will create by the teacher. Video Lots of shape to make the lesson more interesting and make students understand better. As we know, children can better understand the lesson by using music and creativity. By singing, it is easy for children to remember. This video is including the singing and the visual of 2D shape. for me, it is interesting and can make then understand easily. This video was taken from the internet from Youtube web site. Computer and use interactive learning Tangram which is visual manipulative to attract students attention. From that software, it can make students enjoy learning mathematics and from that, students will know, there are many object that can form from 2D shape. For the software of Tangram, teacher can got it from internet. Text Book Year 2 as a reference. Worksheet where teacher will give each students per sheet to look their understanding about the topics. From that, teacher can know the students problem and know which part teacher must give more attention and which students need more attention for this topic. This worksheet also as a exercises for students where it is form by the teacher to be the teaching aids. Utilize Media, Materials, and Methods Preview the Materials 1. Teacher tried the media at home such as the Tangram software and the sand to draw the shape. Teacher also views the Power point 2 or 3 times to make sure it can work properly and modify it to make it better before show to the students. Teacher makes

sure, the Power point include the content of the lesson today and the information can help students reached the objectives. 2. Teacher makes sure the LCD and plug in the class can work properly and teacher knows how to handle the LCD and computer. Prepare the Materials Teacher should do a walk-through in the computer lab prior to class to ensure all computers are able to access Tangram. Handouts should be copied and ready to distribute. Teacher knows how to manipulate the materials and make sure the materials is enough. Prepare the Environment Teacher must check the lighting, comfort, and to ensure all media is properly working. A back-up lab or emergency contact person should be available in case reserved lab is not adequately prepared for instruction. the lab also must be conducive and students comfortable to learn. Prepare the Learner The lesson will being with an introduction from the instructor and an ice-breaker will be done to introduce students to one another. The instructor will then give an overview of 2D shape and the relationship with our daily life object like square tile and circle clock. Handouts will be distributed that will allow students to follow along with the teacher.

Require Learner Participation Page | 5

1. Teacher will ask students about their previous lesson. e.g: What is this shape class?student: It is square (Oral activity) 2. Students will pay attention when teacher teach by using Power Point and they can sing together when teacher show the video of Lots Of Shape and refer to text book to get more example of 2D shape. 3. Students will work in pairs to make the activities according to the worksheet and task given. (Hands-on activity and discussion Appendix B) 4. Students will work group of four to design the 2-D shape to form man and any pattern by using manipulative materials and draw the shape on the sand. (Handson activity and group work). Students will take turn to make the activities and group member will help each other. 5. Students will work in pairs when make the interactive learning. It will make students enjoy making the activities because it is interesting and students will curios to make the activities.

Evaluate & Revise After end the lesson, teacher will close it with a brief summary of the lesson today. The handout and exercise (Appendix A) will be distribute to all students and students will complete it at home as a homework. Teacher will explain how 2D shape are apply in our daily life. Teacher will ask some students the question related with the topic to know the student understands. Questions on the evaluation will include: 1. After complete the task and make all activities, do you enjoy learning mathematics? 2. Is it easy? What example of 2D shape that you can get from your surrounding? 3. What activities today did you find most helpful? Least? 4. How do you think the teacher could improve this lesson next time? 5. Additional comments/thoughts/suggestions/questions.
