HELLO VIETNAM Objectives: Create opportunities for foreign students to explore the local scenic and historical sites;

; learn about traditional customs, craft villages, and Vietnamese cuisine. Build avenues for Vietnamese students to learn and interact with international peers and facilitate in the effort of the nations culture preservation. Execute community projects & social work to support children, the disabled and the less fortunate. Raise awareness in nature and environment conservations.

Targeted participants: 15-25 year olds. Duration: from 3 weeks to 3 months. Program: Southern region: Touring and accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City, the economic centre of Vietnam, including the following attractions: Group 1: Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Independence Palace, Ben Thanh Market, Municipal Theatre of Ho Chi Minh City, Museum of Southern Women, War Remnants Museum, Giac Lam Pagoda. Group 2: Cu Chi Tunnel, Mot Thoang Vietnam Tourist Village. Group 3: Can Gio Resort.

Enjoy a musical night with special performances by disabled artists at DRD Vietnam(Disability Resource and Development Vietnam). Interact with needy and disabled students who have received scholarships. Participate in cooking classes on Southern Vietnamese dishes. Learn Vietnamese (for programs of 3 months or longer).

Participate in volunteering projects by VLCDC to help poor students and the disabled. Example: Teaching English or Fundraising events

Central region:

Touring and accommodation in Nha Trang, among the 30 most beautiful bays in the world, including the following attractions:

Group 1: XQ Hand Embroidery, Institute of Oceanography, Bao Dai Villas. Group 2: Po Nagar, Stone Church. Group 3: Yangbay Waterfall or Trekking on Hoa Lan Island. Group 4: Coral Reef Diving at Hon Tam & Hon Mun.

Interact with local students in Nha Trang. Participate in cooking classes on Central regions dishes. Join in activities with volunteers from VLCDC at Living Value Classes for orphans, sponsored by VLCDC. Participate in volunteering projects by VLCDC to help poor students and the disabled. Example: Teaching English or Fundraising events

Northern region:

Touring and accommodation in Ha Noi, the capital of Vietnam, and several other towns in the vicinity, including the following attractions: Group 1: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Van Mieu (Temple of Literature), Tran Quoc Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology

Group 2: Duong Lam historical village. Group 3: Bat Trang Pottery village.

Group 4: Ban Ba waterfall Tuyen Quang province or An Lac- Khero Commune a community-based ecotourism site in Bac Giang province.

Enjoy the Water Puppet show and other local minorities artistic performances. Make your own pottery souvenirs, with instructions from the local artists at the Bat Trang Pottery Village. Participate in cooking classes on Northern Vietnamese dishes. Participate in volunteering projects by VLCDC to help poor children in the mountainous regions.

Highlights: Program instructors are student volunteers from various teams under VLCDC in Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang & Ha Noi. All instructors are thoroughly trained on knowledge and skills to facilitate the programs most effectively.
