HARI SADU Do you know Hari Sadu? If you dont remember, read this: H for Hitler, A for Arrogant, R for Rascal and I for Idiot. Yes, we are talking about the same Hari Sadu in the advertisement of Naukri.com. The ad film opens on an employee submitting his job reports to his boss. Without even looking at these submissions, the boss throws them on his juniors face. Just then his secretary comes with a phone call from the hotel reservation desk. Taking the call, the angry boss books a table for two at poolside and tells his name as Hari Sadu. Unable to understand this name, the person on the other side requests him to repeat. Offering help, the junior takes the call and spells it for his boss. Yes write down. Hari Sadu. H for Hitler, A for arrogant, R for rascal, I for idiot. As the junior says, Now write down Sadu. S for.., his colleague completes shameless, leaving the boss totally astonished.

Once a negative emotion is repeatedly linked to a poor performance or an inability to improve, it tends to strengthen that negative relationship. It is up to the individual and the official to create an environment in which the official experiences a series of successful events and positive emotions flourish. Only when that is done is it reasonable to consider working on improving performance. So, what exactly is emotional intelligence? Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize your emotions, understand what theyre telling you, and realize how your emotions affect people around you. Emotional intelligence also involves your perception of others: when you understand how they feel, this allows you to manage relationships more effectively. Hence Emotional intelligence is the ability to identify, assess, and control the emotions of oneself, of others, and of groups. Two aspects of emotional intelligence are, Understanding yourself, your goals, intentions, responses, behaviour and all. Understanding others, and their feelings. Two types that fit emotional intelligence are Intrapersonal intelligence: is the capacity to manage ourselves through knowing and understanding our feelings, wishes, needs, wants, and purpose Interpersonal intelligence: involves the ability to be sensitive to other peoples emotions and psychological states, and enables us to choose appropriate responses Emotional intelligence involves the abilities to perceive, appraise, and express emotion; to access and/or generate feelings when they facilitate thought; to understand emotion

and emotional knowledge; and to regulate emotions to promote emotional and intellectual growth - Mayer & Salovey 2,000 years ago, Plato wrote, All learning has an emotional base. People with high emotional intelligence are usually successful in most things they do. Why? Because theyre the ones that others want on their team. When people with high EI send an email, it gets answered. When they need help, they get it. Because they make others feel good, they go through life much more easily than people who are easily angered or upset. Emotional intelligence is not about being nice all the time. It is about being honest. Emotional intelligence is not about being touchy-feely. It is about being aware of your feelings, and those of others. Emotional intelligence is not about being emotional. So Emotional Intelligence is also an ability to monitor ones own and others emotions, to discriminate among them and to use the information to guide ones thinking and actions. It is the ability to perceive, control and evaluate emotions. Some researchers claim that emotional intelligence is an inborn characteristic, while others suggest it can be learned and strengthened, and is registered through deep listening listening to oneself and listening to others. It is a form of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor ones own and others feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them, and to use this information to guide ones thinking and action You are on an airplane that suddenly hits extremely bad turbulence and begins rocking from side to side. What do you do? A. Continue to read your book or magazine, or watch the movie, trying to pay little attention to the turbulence. B.
