AL0201CA14 Why is this long-running class so popular? Probably because of the hands-on plant identification walks, the comprehensive classroom lectures, and the online instructional tools that make it a 24/7 plant-loving experience. I have never met someone as passionate about plants as Steve is, said one attendee about lead instructor Steve Kristoph. Steve will teach you two skills all plant lovers or managers should master: The ability to identify landscape plants on the properties you manage Expanding your palette of plants to select the right plant for the right site and the right purpose In small groups led by our instructors, youll visit Rutgers Gardens where youll get up-close and personal with plants. Youll see them in their habitat, youll learn their Latin names, and youll increase your ability to talk knowledgeably with clients. You have to see the plant in its place to understand where it fits in the environment, or where it doesnt fit, which is just as important. You cant get that by showing a twig in a bottle in the classroom, explains Dr. Bruce Doc Hamilton, course founder and guest instructor. Doc and Steve are joined by guest lecturer Derron Dover and professional field assistant, Alyson Tizzano. Heres what your colleagues have said about this course: This class was highly informative and inspirational. It has completely changed the way I look at trees and plants. All of the instructors were amazing! They were totally dedicated to increasing our knowledge and to our success. Their passion is intoxicating! CPWM: 12 Technical.
