We are currently seeking a Manager of Design Engineering for our McBee, SC location to manage the Standard Commercial Engineering Design Group, including the development engineers and co-management of the drafting and test lab work loads. Responsibilities: Work closely with the Certification/Tech Lit Manager to ensure that development projects are coordinated with in the group. Responsibilities for working with the Program Manager for the Commercial Group to ensure that projects continue on schedule and meet deadlines. Responsible for helping to create and support the workload at the GEC for the Standard Commercial product lines. Make presentations to upper management and other customers as required.

Travel for business needs as required. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications: B.S. in Engineering, a Masters Degree in Engineering or MBA is preferred.

4 to 8+ years of experience in the design of water heaters or HVAC related equipment. Experience managing a professional and hourly staff. Familiarity with the National Fuel Gas Code, ASME and CSA/UL standards strongly desired.

Strong analytic and technical skills, with ability to understand the design of water heaters and the requirements that they must meet. Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information in an easy to understand manner to any audience. Demonstrated understanding of aerodynamics and the combustion process a strong plus. Demonstrated understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics, modeling, and software applications. Proven ability to manage and develop staff. Strong planning, influencing, and organizational skills. Strong project management skills.
