The following documents were consideredduring the preparationof this Standard: ASTM Fl28l-90 F1282-90 Crosslinked Polyethylene/Aluminium/CrosslinkeP d olyethylene (PEX-ALP E X ) p r e s s u r ep i p e (P pressure pipe Polyethylene/Aluminium/Polyethylen e E-AL-PE)cornposite

The Committee decided to use the terminology macro-composite to better describe the pipe structure. The term 'macro' reflects the three separate component layers working together in the pipe wall as opposed to the more common fibre-reinforced composite pipe slructures. The terms'normative'and'informative'have been used in this Standard to definethe a p p l i c a t i o no f t h e a p p e n d i x t o w h i c h t h e y a p p l y . A ' n o r m a t i v e ' a p p e n d i x i s a n i n t e g r a l part of a Standard, whereas an 'informative' appendix is only for information and guidance.
