Portability - Participant will retain account even if he/she decides to switch jobs. If your PF trust deed allows, you can invest your monthly PF contributions in a VPS. To maximize tax credit, you can top up such investment to your allowable investment limit. Choice of fixing a retirement age between 60 years to 70 years or 25 years of maintaining a VPS account whichever is earlier. 50% tax free withdrawal of accumulated balance allowed at retirement age. Amounts received as monthly installments from an Income Payment Plan, invested for a period of 10 years post retirement, from the accumulated balances in a pension fund account are exempt from tax as per Finance Act 2012.
