Disinfection of water
REPORT ONPURIFICATION OF TAP WATER NECESSITY: According current scenario in Solapur city many people are affected by epidemic disease cholera .This is due to supply of polluted water in city. Thus it alarms us to purify the water what we get from municipality taps. OBJECTIVE: To determine the purity of tap water after purification. PROCEDURE: The purifier used for this purpose in which water is purified in four stages beginning with the removal of visible dirt, followed by the removal of harmful parasites and pesticide impurities. Then, the harmful viruses and bacteria are killed. OBSEVATIONS: SR.NO PARAMETER

SPECIFICATION TAP WATER OF DRINKING SPECIFICATION WATER ACCORDING TO IS:10500 Clear, non muddy Nearly clear, slightly muddy 10 55 6.5 to 8.5 7.5 to 8 300 375 75 30 Absent Absent 120 60 May be May be
SPECIFICTION OF TAP WATER AFTER PURIFING Fairly clear 30 7 to 7.5 330 85 40 Absent Absent
RESULTS: The above observations clears the idea that boiling or purifying water in purifier leads to best quality of water which will be odourless, colourless, free of germs. This purified water assures us 100% pure water which prevent us from dreadful disease like cholera, jaundice, typhoid and diarrhoea.

Disinfection of water
CONCLUSION The project concentrated on the ways how water gets infected by various methods like physically or chemically. Environmental considerations are increasing regarding water the norms are set for supply of water which will ensure there will no epidemics like cholera, jaundice, typhoid and diarrhoea. To pure the water firstly all its components, its texture, its properties. Disinfection is an important step in ensuring that water is safe to drink. Water systems add disinfectants to destroy microorganisms that can cause disease in humans. Primary methods of disinfection are chlorination, chloramines, ozone, and ultraviolet light. Other disinfection methods include chlorine dioxide, potassium permanganate, and photo inactivation. Disinfectant water is necessary of our well being. The water purifier test reveals that pure water is safe water.
