Pope Francis documentary on television
TODAY, October 20, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This evening, Sunday, October 20, from 4:00
pm - 5:00 pm (Central), the Fox Business
Network will broadcast a full-length Knights
of Columbus documentary on Pope Francis,
entitled, Francis: The Pope from the New World.
This documentary features interviews with
Pope Francis friends and associates in
Argentina, as well as American prelates and
commentators such as Cardinal Sean
OMalley, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop Charles Chaput,
Archbishop Jose Gomez, and Supreme Knight Carl Anderson.
The whole world loves our Holy Father, but most
do not truly know him as well as they could. This
film will introduce viewers to Jorge Mario
Bergoglio and his life story, from his childhood
and patronage of his local soccer team, to his
ministry as the Cardinal Archbishop of Buenos
Aires. You will see the man who became Pope,
and you will see clearly his vision for the Church.
To learn more about the documentary, visit the official webpage at
www.popefrancisdocumentary.com.

FR. ISAAC HECKER QUOTE
We cannot even preserve the faith among
Catholics in any better way than by advancing it
among our non-Catholic brethren. Indeed,
simply to preserve the faith it is necessary to
extend it. It is a state of chronic disease for me
to live together and not endeavor to
communicate their respective good
fortune. A Catholic without a mission to
his non-Catholic fellow-citizens in these
times, and when only a small portion of the human race has the true
religion, is only half a Catholic. [The Human Environments of
the Catholic Faith, The Catholic World, 1886]

Matching Gift Weekend is coming up NEXT
weekend, October 25-27. As many of you know,
this is our biggest fundraiser of the year and helps
support the ministry at the UCC. Our monthly
expenses typically run around $45,000, but our
regular monthly income is only $30,000. Your
generosity on Matching Gift Weekend helps us to
cover our expenses and provide for our growing
ministry needs! Give online today at
www.utcatholic.org/match or drop your gift in the collection next
weekend. Thank you so much for your support!

Fr. Chucks book discussion
Join Fr. Chuck for his Fall Book Discussion,
Mondays at Noon and 7:00 pm in the Saint
Augustine Room at St. Austin Parish. The series
will meet October 21, 28, and November 4,
11, and 25 (no meeting Nov 18). We will be
discussing Church by Paul Lakeland. If you want
a good presentation on Church in a thoroughly
Vatican II framework, this is the book. This is
serious study, but well written and accessible to educated laity.
Read through page 59 in preparation for the first meeting.
